Looking to buy a Green laser

Yes. You have to be sure you are safe from possible stray reflections.

    Mini B 445nm 100mw on order....

I've been curious about what diode is in this setup as well. It'll be interesting to find out. :pop:

    Perfect handheld.

I agree that the A140 would be cheaper and have a longer life. However, the 450nm diode would have better divergence, seeing it is a single mode diode. ;)

Help With My First Laser Build?

This should help you get started. ;) http://laserpointerforums.com/f51/i-want-build-laser-thread-52972.html Good luck on your build.

    Safety pin idea/mod (pic heavy)

That is a great idea! Very out-of-the-box and creative. +1 for you! :gj: I gotta say, it's refreshing to see a newb with great ideas instead of "can I burn with this?" and "I hear I can pot-mod this laser to double the power!!" Hang around here; we need more creative members in...

Converting momentary switch to an on/off one....?

The momentary switch in that pointer is tiny, and it is soldered to the driver board of the module. I'm only guessing the dimensions, but I'd probably say that the switch is 1/4" x 1/4" square. Sinner is right, clicky switches are bigger. I do not believe that a momentary can be modded to...

Blue laser & green lavalamp - Epic effect - !!!

That's pretty cool. I'll have to try it sometime. Thanks for sharing. :)

    515nm Green diode!

Last night, that search bar under the ads was completely missing. It's back now, though...

Safety Goggles & laser from Rayfoss

I've never ordered from rayfoss, but most chinese shippers I have ordered from require signature in person; either at point of delivery or at the post office. It's pretty annoying, but I suppose it makes sense that the sellers want to make sure stuff is delivered. Anyone else order from...

    Perfect handheld.

Yup. Here's where that 450nm single mode 3.8mm diode comes from ;) www.rayfoss.com

    Did some boost drivers :)

Wow! Nice work. That's quite impressive. :) Lol. Look out, Dr Lava!

The Inside Look of an H-Package Diode

I have the same power supply. Mine does the same thing with a short between the leads. It clicks and disables the output until the short is broken. I use it to test tons of diodes, no problems. ;)

Sad to see a member go...but come on back when you catch up with college life.

Safety Goggles & laser from Rayfoss

I had said that those glasses *should* be okay with a low power 405, such as you said you had bought with the glasses. I do not have those glasses personally, only have read reviews. They are not good for higher powers, hence why I said for lower power. You had said that you were buying...

Yet another 445 stainless (picture heavy)

I actually meant I know where you got the heatsink. He had asked if it came from Jayrob. ;) How could you have broken a Stainless host?? lol

What color laser burns best ??

I'm assuming you are looking for a visible wavelength? Then I'd say 405. If it doesn't have to be visible, IR burns really well. It is dangerous, though, since you can't see the beam. Glasses are a must.
