    1xAA Blu-Ray from Ebay

I recently purchased a DIY Blu-Ray from Ebay. I don't know who makes these as I've never seen anything similar here on the LPF boards. I have wanted a Blu-Ray for a while, but don't have the time to make one and wanted something that ran off of standard batteries. This is powered by 1 AA Sanyo...

6x BR build pics & beamshots Simply Stunning!

Beautiful, especially the green/bluray combo! I'm surprised the green doesn't wash out the bluray in the pic.

    Blu-Ray dangers? Cataracts? Skin cancer?

I found some good info about the different wavelengths on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultraviolet#Subtypes It does seem like 405nm just starts to step into the UVA range which according to wiki, once was thought to be harmless but now has been proven to be something you want to...

    Blu-Ray dangers? Cataracts? Skin cancer?

Where does 405nm Blu-ray light fall in the UV spectrum as far as danger levels? We spend a large part of our lives avoiding UV light with sunscreen and sunglasses. Now we're willfully shining UV light, in concentrated form all around us at close range. Do we have to worry about UV damage to our...

How much will the price of blu-ray drop?

I absolutely agree, they will be as common as 650nm reds. But, I'd rather pay now instead of waiting for the price to come down in a year or two.

    $10 blu-ray diodes?

Beat up, as-is XBOX 360 Blu-ray drives. I bet you anything that the diodes still work just fine. And if they don't, no real money lost anyways. Has anyone else delt with this vendor or bought damaged Blu-ray drives to salvage the diode?? I hope this turns out to be an affordable blu-ray source...

    Wicked Lasers

Absurd pricing, high failure/underspec rate. I got lucky, the only thing I ever ordered from them, a Pulsar 100, is still going strong after two years, overspec at about 125mw. Many better companies to deal with these days. Nova, Lucent, Laserglow, Optotronics, etc.

    U.S confiscating imported lasers???

I live in Pennsylvania and had no problem receiving my Nova X105. I also had no problem receiving my Wicked Pulsar. Nothing to worry about. 8-)

    Reviewer

Let's not beat around the bush. He's making every attempt to get a free laser. That's why he's overly defensive, because he was called out for what he was doing. Inserting his disability for a sympathy vote was an equally poor move. I do agree that this thread just needs to be closed. It...

    Selling highpower handhelds

I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt and removing what I had originally said. I hope that you are indeed a legitimate seller and if so, the best of luck to you.

Really don't want to go to Wicked for this...

And if that was the case two years ago I would have chosen DX too.

Which laser related purchases do you regret?

The only laser I regretted was a keychain greenie that ran on button cells. But I got my money back.

    I have a HUGE dilemma!

I agree, use it for its intended purpose for a little while. Then when you get bored with it, tear it up!

Really don't want to go to Wicked for this...

I'm not here to get involved with another Wicked vs. everyone-else discussion. Just pointing out that I've had a lot of fun with my Pulsar and that after a very long time (need I say it again? TWO YEARS) it's working as well as day one. I spent around $200 back then and it was worth every penny...

Really don't want to go to Wicked for this...

You say this based on what? Do you own a pulsar? I've owned a Pulsar for two years, use it virtually every day, and have had zero problems. Does it have a driver? No Does it need one? No It burns tape, lights matches and pops balloons. Plenty of power, perfectly reliable. Here's a video...

    Just recived my Novalasers X-75.

Congrats on your X75! It's nice having a company like Nova that gives you a dependable laser that consistently puts out a higher output than what you paid for. My X105 peaks at 125mw and settles around 115mw! Just watch those eyeballs, a 75mw laser is no joke!
