    My White Laser

Amazing Andy, stunning pictures. My favorite believe it or not is this one. Because it makes me think that it's within the realm of possibility that I too could build one of these.

I love the dashed lines of pulsed lasers. Great pic comparison, thanks!

Quick Pics - Green Blu-Ray Red (Sunburn reborn!)

Re: Quick Pics - Green Blu-Ray Red (Sunburn reborn Thank you! Surprisingly, it's a cell phone camera. I recently purchased a Nokia N95 that has a 5 megapixel camera and it renders the color of my blu-ray better than my Sony Cybershot, go figure. A lot of it is the angle too, from a forward...

Quick Pics - Green Blu-Ray Red (Sunburn reborn!)

The red is my dead PHR-803T reborn as an LG22x burner. The BluRay is TheMonk's 1AA creation. The green is the Nova X105 Fog brought to you by a big block of dry ice from the Omaha Steaks order that arrived today. Hooray for lasers! Hooray for steaks frozen with dry ice! And let's bring...

need some advice on dvd-rom diodes...

I'm using the LG 22X in my build. It has the nice open can long die diode, running at 400ma. Pain to get out of the heatsink though. Patience is a must.

Lava Micro FlexDrive Driver (lavadrive2) fits pens

Re: Lava Micro FlexDrive Driver (lavadrive2) fits Thanks for the follow-up Drlava, much appreciated. I know this is all just a hobby and r-Life takes precedence over e-Life now and then :)

Lava Micro FlexDrive Driver (lavadrive2) fits pens

Re: Lava Micro FlexDrive Driver (lavadrive2) fits DrLava, I know you're busy, but after 7 days (ordered 6/23) and no status update, it would be nice to know what's happening with my order. If there's a delay, that's fine, but at least let me know something is in the works. 8-) Thank you, Steve

    Blu-ray SUNBURN! whoops!

With my laser it took less than 5 seconds, but I was running in the 150ma range. I don't know if 90mw of blu-ray would do that type of damage or not. Probably, but over a longer period of time. I wouldn't recommend burning your skin on purpose, or anyone elses :D

    Sunburn blu-ray: DEATH NOTES

It sure does! You never know if that diode is going to light up the first time current passes through it after the torture of extraction. Such a great feeling when it comes to life!!

    Sunburn blu-ray: DEATH NOTES

No problem! and just a few hours after my first post in this thread.....I have successfully finished my LG 22X DVD burner project. Running nicely in the same flashlight housing at 400ma. It's a beast, I have no idea what the output is, but it's way brighter than my WL Pulsar, by far. 8-)

    Sunburn blu-ray: DEATH NOTES

Ok, I finally got around to measuring how much current I was feeding the PHR-803T diode at the time of death: 195ma Reason: The Dr. Lava driver I was using, I thought was the low-range 32-150ma driver. Well, it wasn't. I measured it under load (using dead bluray diode) up and beyond 400ma. So...
