Ha, to pop out the stock lens I used two pairs of pliers to pull it apart and then used my fingernail to scrape off the little bit of glue stuck to the lens. Took a whole 30 seconds and worked perfect. I used 91% Isopropyl alcohol to clean the lens off when I was done.

Re: World's First Direct Diode 476nm Laser Pointer! Looks like a normal beam diameter coming from a 3-element lens to me. He had it turned so you can see the flat profile of the beam and it was angled towards the camera. The size of the host might be throwing off your perception too.

The extended barrel is longer than the ones in my profile picture actually. Lenses like the G2 and the stock 9mm lens sit much closer to the diode than most other lenses(like the 3-element ones in my profile pic) which means they thread in further sometimes making it difficult to be able to grab...

For reference, the ones from Moh are 5mm thick and have a diameter of 19mm and look like this :P They actually fit pretty well with the Ice line of lasers I sell.

I found either one helps. I'm not typically one for wide focus adapters because I usually like to see the heatsink. My main exception being this 3W beast with its custom FlaminPyro heatsink and focus adapter :P

Yes, you will need a lens holder. I suggest the extended one because it makes it easier to focus without burning your fingers.

Go with the stock. They perform almost identically to a G2.

It wasn't so much the size of the image but the sharpness. Maybe try more light next time.
