    Damn, I knew that would have been too easy. Though at least one step can be skipped and that is the toner transfer by using black paint and engraving the layout then directly into the acid bath. Some neat systems out there, this guy showcases one with appealing results.

    Every time I find a deal on quality 10440's and harder to find sizes I buy extra even when I dont need them. I check all the cells and charge / discharge to 3.8V before I put them away. I hear its an ideal voltage for long term storage.

The intensity setting for high output will produce different currents at a given value each time you change the value. So where I had tested 5.1-5.2A there may have been much greater spikes.     Only when heating up a cup of coffee! I ran the first test in the block, then the second test (post extraction) in a testing mount that tightens down with threads instead of a press fit module. The output was without lens in both tests at equal distance.

    interesting. I'll check that out when mounted. I didn't use a lens initially because the diodes were in the block and didn't want to fiddle. Was just going for the baseline test prior to heating to see if there was any signs of damage. The average output was 5.7 - 5.9W @ 4A

    lol I had the same thought using the red led out of the 'cashew' projectors. IIRC they run at 12A or so. Would have to wire up with a relay but i'm sure would be very effective. Perhaps a timed short pulse so its not so dangerous?
