Sharp Releases Triple -Layer BR Recorder

That price is way too high. How many people does Pioneer/ Sharp think are in their market reach? I wonder what the difference is between the two players that makes them $1000 apart. I don't think the average, or even most of the advanced hobbyists are willing to spend $2000 on a BDR.

FS: White Fusion Laser Mixing Kit

Alright I finally got it working. I was just wondering for sh!ts and giggles what power levels would be needed to make white with .5W of 638nm. I got 375mW of 532nm and 320mW of 445nm. The green needs way too much current, puts out way too much heat and is too big for this kit. I can't wait...

    List of 445nm diodes

That's close to what I'll have. Right now I am soon to have an 18650 kit (plus Aixiz 405 glass) and I have a Flexdrive at 1.2A and an A130 diode. But I might just turn the pot on the Flex to 1.5A after seeing nospin's results.

FS: White Fusion Laser Mixing Kit

Sorry to double post but I really want to get the Chroma working on my computer. I downloaded the Chroma.zip file from here: Then when I started to download the support files found here: it said is was 260ish MB and it wuld take 1-2 hours to download. I don't really care about the size or...

FS: White Fusion Laser Mixing Kit

The only green module that might possibly work would be one of the oversized O-like modules but at $225 a pop I doubt you want to take the plunge. Also, it needs 2 Amps of current to lase at 250-300mW. It would also require the green heatsink in the WF kit to be either drilled out or replaced...

Girls + Lasers = Not So Much

Looks like I have a new screensaver.

Nichia begins sample shipments of green semiconductor lasers

I like 515nm a lot more than 532nm color wise (although not for visibility obviously. By the way Dan, CNI and Viasho already sell 555nm lasers although diodes do not exist.

I take it your waiting for AixiZ 405nm lenses still?

    List of 445nm diodes

Now I'm thinking about cranking the pot on my FlexDrive from 1200ma to the top! The 18650 battery holds up well? Any special brand of battery? No diode flickering? Also, are you heatsinking the 5-pin chip on the FlexDrive? Thanks. I can't wait for my parts to arrive!

Marina Del Rey / Inglewood - Looking for the Source of returned green-laser-fire!

Re: Inglewood / Marina Del Rey - Source of returned green-laser-fire I hope Niko sees this thread and comments on the improper use of the word "literally". I think it was him that was PMSing about it earlier lol.

Marina Del Rey / Inglewood - Looking for the Source of returned green-laser-fire!

Re: Inglewood / Marina Del Rey - Source of returned green-laser-fire Can't help you in your quest but at our town's show, someone had a low powered green. I was wishing so bad right then I had all the parts for my 445nm build. I definitely would've brought it to the show.

    List of 445nm diodes

If the official list you are referring to is the chart on the first page, then SHIN is the only person with A140's that are past 1W.

    Drivers for 445

Those batteries can handle a crapload of current draw! I ordered these from DX: DealExtreme: $8.01 TrustFire Protected 18650 Lithium Battery (2500mAh 2-Pack Blue) The reviews on that page state that they can handle anywhere from 1.6A to 2.8A of current draw. I bet the wide range is due to poor...

    Drivers for 445

So is my 445nm with a FlexDriveV5 @ 1.2A likely to pulse with just one 18650?

Dummy load for high current - 2A test load and 3A

Re: Dummy load for high current. Did you put the test load on the red setting and not the blu-ray, as Drlava suggested? Or is ity a custom dummy load?

FS: Full Colour Driver Extension for the White Fusion kit

Well, it wouldn't be the first time a White Fusion went over 500mW.

    XJ-A150 for $1173?

Re: Xj-a150 $1173? Yeah I tried both of these and it won't capitalize the j and the a. Dunno why. Just like the 12x Blu ray burners when they first came out. Again, I wonder why. LPF has a few British members though, and anyone could always have it shipped stateside.

    Drivers for 445

I'm interested in the parallel Lava drives as well. Anyone care to make a diagram? I'm terrible at understanding the utilization of electricity. Edit: And just to verify, a Flex v5 @ 1.5A will work with one 18650? Does it need heatsinking?

    XJ-A150 for $1173?

Posted about this in the 445nm diodes thread but I think it deserves its own thread. I found a Casio XJ-A150 for 780 GBP or about $1173 USD. That's about $49 a diode before shipping/ profit. I don't know if it's the real deal or not or even if anyone wants to buy it now that they are being...
