    Proposal: Banned Members Information Thread

I doubt it. Wouldnt be the first time a winning poll was not implemented. The Mods would have to run it, so its up to then if they think its worth doing, or not. I've been through this same scenario at least 6 times, and so have others. So its not personal if the Mods choose not to do the...

    Really Cool host...

This question popped up a long time ago. I dont recall why, but these would not make good lasers.

Jerry seems you are the only one with that problem. You have a resolution setting miss set. Your setting is probably bigger than your screen. Which mean your desktop is wider than your screens dimensions. Or you might be using a 16:9 setting on a 4:3 monitor. You need to get the resolution to...

    Lasers in the bright sunlight

I've seen pine pollen so thick it looked like curtains floating in the sky. The lake where I do my volunteer work has so much pollen that its nickname is Golden Pond. If you ever seen the movie "On Golden Pond" thats the lake. Its real name is Squam Lake. Its thick with 150 foot pine trees, so...

    Lasers in the bright sunlight

We did have a few members a while back ask why they had issues seeing the beam at night, and it was because they lived in an arid environment. I think thats a great idea, but a tall order. You have camera, laser, and environmental variables. It would be hard to get definitive stats. I'm blown...

    Lasers in the bright sunlight

The deserts have considerably less particles in the air than any other place in the world. :whistle:There is less water vapor, less plant, and organic material, and sand is very heavy. So beside a sand storm, you will not get as strong a beam than cities, forests, mountains, ect.

    Power estimating

Try cleaning all the contact points with a pencil eraser first. Then check that the batteries are good, and fully charged. Then check if the lens is clean. If everything checks out fine your laser is probably dying the slow death of an over powered diodes. You can tell by defocusing the...

    DIY 1.8W 445nm WaterProof Jayrob's Stainless Steel C3 Build

I doubt you'd pop a water balloon. The water would wick away the heat. Unlike underwater where there would be only air in the balloon. It might work though.

IIRC Bryce did that. There is a video floating around somewhere.

A plea to users of coated optics (G1 and G2) lenses

IgorT always used Acetone for cleaning lenses. Also I've read, from a couple of sources, nothing less than acid would remove the coatings.

I'm a stickler for originality. Even if I had the money I dont think I'd buy retail lasers. Maybe 473, or a yellow. But I'd pull the modules and put them in a custom.
