Any update on green laser diodes?

These are going into pico projectors first, not full sized ones. Current pico projectors using 638nm and 445nm only need about 60mW of 532nm, so they're probably only going to need about 75mW of 5XXnm when these diodes come out, if that.

    808nm - $600

He's using a lensed bar, in that the metal package houses an internal thermistor, TEC, and lens, so the output isn't true, other than the two lenses shown that's all he's using. Here's the 'raw' output of the same type of bar, albeit it at lower power: ljicXLWlhTQ

    808nm - $600

With the CCP package bars (the most common you probably see on eBay) are about the size of a quarter, the emitter package is quite small. Well less than half an inch, maybe a cm or so wide at most, even for the stronger ones.

Re: Focal Price " 500Mw 1000m 532-1064nm Green Laser Pointer Pen with Lock Switch " Most likely a constant on switch and the key is removable in operation.

1.4W Laser functioning, but not as expected?

It could be the batteries protection cell kicking in, but this sounds much more like the flexdrive's protection circuit than anything else.

1.4W Laser functioning, but not as expected?

I'm assuming this is using flexdrives. The flashing is the thermal protection for the driver(s) kicking in, it's perfectly normal. You can add a heatsink to the driver (I think DTR had a thread on doing this, the coin heatsink mod or whatever) and that should help. Hope this helps.

    Awesome Flashlight Beam. "Video"

Just a note, using a P7 for throw won't work too well. This is due to the fact that the P7 is a quad-die LED, and there are donuts in the beam up close, and at a distance it's more of a flood. It's a great LED for illumination (as is the MC-E) but for a good powerful single die, I'd go with an...

    red light camera destroyer

This has been bugging me, and I know this is clichéd, but think if everyone did that? There's a good chance you're going to get T-Boned by someone who is just going a tad over, or speeding up to make it through a yellow. I'm probably going to get flamed for this, but so be it. The laws are there...

Max output for a 635 nm laser, while affordable?

High powered reds aren't lines so much as squares. I'll find a picture in a second. It does depend on the diode, but you get the gist of what I'm saying, right? Edit: This is an FAC'd but as of yet uncollimated 635nm diode. Edit2: This is MISTERWILLINGs picture, not mine.

My Howitzer D-30 heats up my hand pretty well for being 3 MC-Es in a MOP reflector. XM-Ls are awesome, by the way.

    ARCTIC HOST feeler! interested? READ

I have to disagree. Have you ever used one? They're easy to operate and they keep people who don't have experience with Class IV lasers from picking it up and waving it around. It's not necessary, but it's certainly a nice feature to have. Just my two cents on the matter.

Knife blade polisher with sharpening stones? It vaguely resembles a knife sharpener I saw once, if you changed the color, had only two posts, a whetstone instead of the big thing at the back, no buttons, and the two posts were longer than that, right against each other at the base making a V and...
