@ Milkman, there is a simple solution for your problem. I checked the specs of ur camera, the closest point it can focus on is about 15 cm away from the object. Take it to about 15cm away and then use the optical zoom to get a bit closer. That's the only way to do it for you. The "macro"...

Looks like a very dirty lens to me (since the 1st picture shows a brighter dot in all the fuzz). I read you lit a couple of matches with it, if you hold it too close, the smoke and that shit-whatever-it's-called that launch off the match when you light it might have hit the lens. Try cleaing it...
