The Three Billy's [Update] Now Four Billy's

Re: The Three Billy's Great stuff. How's the wavelength adjustment on the blue-buttoned corrected one working for you?

Re: new Sharp 495nm diode(after testing it confirmed just 488nm)

Re: new Sharp 495nm diode Man, if I had a 495nm diode I would be one happy camper. I've been striving for that ~500nm teal for a long time, and just recently we see such activity closer to that range. Shame they become available so slowly and aren't reliably sourced. I never got one of those...

    PLP 520 B1 Copper pen..

First of all, that's a nice host you've made there. I've been looking for a skinny all-copper build for a while. If you ever make them in a one-cell design, I will be all over that. (and probably if you sell the 2-cell too) As for copper hosts in general, I kind of like them slightly patinated...

    Thoughts on my design

This is a cool little design, and I've been thinking on such a design/size myself. I really like the screwing of a module into the heatsink. I would be interested in one if you ever start selling them, and especially so if one could be made with the body bare copper as well. That's just about...

    50mW 589nm Spartan, Mellow Yellow

The 405nm I've measured to about 700mW Also, my 589 hasn't produced multiple lines for me yet. I've tried a few temperature combinations but only get mode hopping. Congrats on having an even more unusual yellow, and I hope the one sold here is just as cool!

My Rigel! Don't forget about 594.

Awesome laser there, man. I have a 589nm and have loved that range of the spectrum. I think the camera captured the warm gold of it well.

    505nm and 480nm diode RESULTS

Is there still a source for one of the low-wavelength batches, or was that just luck that those were so low? I like the color of the ones I got from DTR, but I crave lower!

Driver for the new 505nm and 480nm diodes

Survival Laser has a linear driver for the 70-500mA range, but the pot is on the board so it might take a bit of modification. I ordered one of those for my blue and a couple of the boost drivers DTR sells for my green 505's

Survival Laser July 4th Weekend SALE!!

Looking over my collection, I think most of the parts are from Survival Laser, especially the things that fit in a C6 form factor. You've always been a good go-to, and this sale has brought me back to find even more stuff that I didn't know I needed :D Especially a high-power test load. So...

    Thinking 505nm !!!

I anxiously await my package from DTR. I wanted to buy now before the Great Driver Shortage hits. I hope at least one of the diodes is low-wavelength. Yours looks beautiful, and the 500nm mark is my sweet spot, personally.

    Thinking 505nm !!!

How does the color compare to how your camera captures it? I haven't seen many pictures of the hue yet and am curious what to expect when my modules arrive.

    HELP ME! 505nm Build request!

That's going to be a pretty host with that copper and such a unique diode. Looking forward to some more pictures!

    HELP ME! 505nm Build request!

I see that DTR has his 505nm diode-driver module using a boost driver. I wonder if those are available yet. If so, it would be a good choice to get all the hardware other than a host you like the shape of. And because it's a low power diode on a boost driver, a single cell will be enough and...

    505nm and 480nm diode RESULTS

Hey, DTR, I am wondering: what current do you have the X-Drives set to for the 505nm modules on your shop?

    505nm and 480nm diode RESULTS

While I await my diodes from DTR's wonderful service, I wonder if it might be of interest to run some sort of "binning group buy" where we grab a large lot of diodes, bin them, and somehow sell them based on the wavelength. I certainly respect that buying stock diodes isn't influenced by binning...

    505nm and 480nm diode RESULTS

One trouble I'm seeing is that the lens option and add to cart button area shows as a white rectangle for me. Firefox and chrome are both experiencing it. I'm not sure if it's just me, but I thought I'd let you know. Plus, it's keeping me from my aqua beauties :D

    50mW 589nm Spartan, Mellow Yellow

The 589nm Spartan is a WONDERFUL laser. I lucked in to getting mine at a price that I could afford. These are rare and the price goes up by the month sometimes buying direct. The color is unbeatable, and having bragging rights for showing someone something they will probably never see another...

    505nm diode?

Well Hot DAWG! I sure do hope to get my paws on a variety of diodes so I can find just the right wavelengths to give me my fix and fill in my rainbow. I see a few of these coming my way, and I already have dumped out my drool-bucket a few times. :pop:

    505nm diode?

I should try a higher line/mm grating, yeah. Also, I was going off of: slit separation * sin(dot offset angle) = (integer) * wavelength I ended up with equal spacing between the dots, so it seems a sin(x)=x approximation works for the range of angles I'm measuring. This means that the distance...

    505nm diode?

I have actually tried this! It is a pretty neat method, I agree. I did not take my measurements with the laser through a slit, and I really should do that next time. Here's some pictures of the setup I used to measure the diffraction: 589nm 532nm 405nm 470nm NUBM07E And finally, the one...
