40-50W blue laser from tightly packed parallel 08 beams

So, here is the last part of build description. The 3rd thing was to combine the 2 resulting beams by PBS cube. For this I made a small 3mm thick baseplate and screwed it to the same bottom sliding adapter which was bearing one of the wedge plates for 45º inclinated mirrors. Its design was...

40-50W blue laser from tightly packed parallel 08 beams

Hi Bob, where did you find 16 beams? There are only 8 beams in this block. Please take a precise look into pictures, I hope that I have explained all well, no? Of course at start I wanted to make 16-beams combiner and bored 16 holes in the plates but from engineering point of view it was...

40-50W blue laser from tightly packed parallel 08 beams

Yes, my sensationalism is burning white walls far away with pens, not popping close black balloons with bazookas!!! Back to the subject: For the 2nd vertical knife edging I attached (due to big contact surface adhesive tape was OK here as well) two 20x10mm RGB HR mirrors from Optlasers to small...

40-50W blue laser from tightly packed parallel 08 beams

Do no say that you think it is the same type of build, Steve! Light engines from A-series are real crap, even after factory knife edging thise 24 uncorrected beams look more like a torch than a laser. I tried to burn wood with one of them and after PCX lens the minimum spot of this...

Power a laser with lead battery

Maybe he means the small lead batteries for alarm installations which are still sold over counter in some electronic shops until today -...

40-50W blue laser from tightly packed parallel 08 beams

Hi, in this thread I want to summarize the experiments with aim to construct a 50W "laser cannon" build. This was result of thinking about what one can do with a virgin NUBM08 block. How would you like to call this baby? You can consider this thread as a continuation of that one called "Gatling...

Fenix TK75 - How to remove bezel?

And where is PM option now, I only see "Start conversation" clicking over your name in this LPF version.

Fenix TK75 - How to remove bezel?

Thank you, this is very kind of you! Is it easy to ground lenses without destroying them? I think that a very precise equipment would be needed for this and not at all the same which is used in CNC shops working with metals. You were lucky to get lenses with AR coating so cheap, I look at ebay...

Hi aaron, What is the shipping cost ebay shows you in US?

    NUBM31T 95W 455nm

Yes, 6.33mm. Even aspherics with f=2mm would be too big with their 3.8mm diameter! What about a more clever way: fix fast and slow axes separately. For this five 3.5mm wide and ca. 30mm long PCX cylindricals with f1 could be installed side by side and over them four similar with f2 90º rotated...

    NUBM31T 95W 455nm

G-balls may be not so bad, at least if the aim is focusing at not very long range. I doubt that there are diodes as we are used to think of. If they were they should be without back part because you cannot put 5 in a row and have 14mm between 1st and 5th beam centers unless the diodes are...

Fenix TK75 - How to remove bezel?

Hi Alaskan, Thank you. It looks interesting. 84mm lens would pass into Fenix bezel for sure, 85mm might be too close. If the lens thickness is not too big, I could try. Anyway 85mm would for sure pass into the big 28 XM-L T6 LED chinese torch I recently bought from ali but I did not yet...

    NUBM31T 95W 455nm

Active cooling - do you mean TEC? What size? I had an idea - in an ice maker there should be a compressor cooler inside - would it be enough to build a powerful cooling device. I read that compressors are bigger but this old technology is still much more efficient than TECs.

    Over 20 Watts of ~408nm

You lucky americans! I would like to play with one too, if not the 500usd shipping to Europe. However I do not see it easy to solder all LDs serially to 100V external driver keeping modules in place (or feed + modulation to each of 20 module PCBs what might be twice difficult)...

Fenix TK75 - How to remove bezel?

Oh, wait, you are right - all these carriers are parallel - the voltage is 8V all the time. Strange tipe of torch, not like others where more batteries mean more voltage... I have to check how much current it can pass - hopefully my 100A ammeter with shunt should be enough? Do you know what the...

Laser Gatling - getting 8 CORRECTED parallel beams from NUBM08 block

With this block I see no reason for long distance because all G-balls produce different collimation and some of the beams seem to be focused at 0.5 m and then diverge, so the faster diverging beams will always hide the well collimated ones inside of the pack. In contrary to make a burner with...

Laser Gatling - getting 8 CORRECTED parallel beams from NUBM08 block

Finaly I managed to combine all 8 beams into 1. This setup has a lot of custom made parts and Al plates to keep the frame made of 6 Thorlabs bars solid, 2 assembled Lasertack micro KE modules, 3 Optlaser mirrors for vertical shift and direction and Waveplate-PBS combo at the end. Later I will...

The " Blue Katar " project

Hi Bob, Here are the pictures of my old experiments how to improve collimation after G-balls with Sanwu BE: https://laserpointerforums.com/threads/sanwu-expander-as-compensator-for-bad-spots-from-some-ball-lenses.101023/ By the way I still keep 2 NUBM44-v2 and 2 of last DTRs N465 in 12mm DTR...

Fenix TK75 - How to remove bezel?

This week I received 2 extensions for this body (seller did not recommend to use more than 3 battery packs at once - what makes 24V input into driver) and checked the voltage/curent in this torch when light was on. Soldered into the circuit am/voltmeter only reads 10V-2.8A at full luminosity...

The " Blue Katar " project

I remember something about putting another ball next to the one in NUBM07 (to do the opposite to what the 1st ball does and return to "raw output" again after convergence point) and then install a normal G-2 colli after it. Also any kind of bad G-ball collimation can be repaired by a beam...
