    I wanna laser :D

Haha, we start telling everyone to go to Zippo and buy a lighter.

    I wanna laser :D

$20? I spent $275 on my first big laser (granted, I'm 16 and got a 1.2W one with some upgrades and glasses), but $20 is way too little, especially since you need glasses. Raise it to $60 at least, maybe more if you want more power or better goggles.

    Green Laser for Kids recommendations

Wait, I just realized exactly how young 7 is-- it's most likely a very bad idea to give even a 1mw to anyone under 10. If you must get he/she one, then PLEASE don't get something more powerful than a 1mw red.

    Green Laser for Kids recommendations

Get your kid a 1mw red pointer, anything more powerful shouldn't be used by anyone under 12 (and mature).

Buying my first high powered laser

A build from Yob or Survival is more than 5 times that much power, and it's a LOT more dangerous. I'm talking about powers that, just a few years ago, were impossible to get from a single diode. This is one watt of focused laser radiation. This stuff can blind you in less than a milisecond, burn...

Buying my first high powered laser

If your going for Ibu's offer, you need stronger glasses-- OD4 @445nm is what you need, not OD3.

Spyder 3 Krapton - 1W of green power from WL

Re: Spyder 3 Krypton - 1W of green power from WL But what if it really puts out 1W of green? In terms of sheer power, the SL 1.2W I own is plenty, but green is so tempting... So tempting... **looks at bank account and groans**

I'm buying my first green laser pointer!

A "5mw" from DX is a great starting laser, only $10 and a little overspec (but fairly safe as long as it's not shone in someone eyes or at cars/plane). If this is your first laser (you've never owned a laser before), than just get a 5mw, and take it from there. If you want a visible beam at...

    Not a bad idea...

New member looking for laser 101 class

    1. Get rated safety glasses! 2. Never let others use your laser! 3. Always dissemble or lock your laser after use! 4. Never point at mirrors, road signs, humans, animals, windows, cars or airplanes! 5. At high powers and close range, looking at the dot alone can destroy your vision! Wear...

Where can I get such a laser?

Look in the B/S/T section of this forum or Google it and try to find a reputable supplier. Keep in mind extreme caution and safety glasses would have to used at all times when using said laser :).

Where can I get such a laser?

Read his description! He says 600mw! So, 600mw should work... Speaking of wood burning, I think I just found a new use for my 1.2W monster .

    150$

Bbbut I did that :cryyy:. Although I'm slightly crazy to go from 1mw to 1.2W.

Can't see it on my iPod either.

My attempts at laser photography... *many new shots added* 8-24-11

Amazing pics! +rep! Ahhh, I need a better camera badly at this point... I keep on seeing nice ones being used here, and someone I know has a EOS 5D... I really need a entry-level DSLR...

Re: FS: Diodeless Projectors. Only 2 Left!!! Eh, I kind of wanted the whole projector (phatlight/fans/optics/etc). $35 was too good to be true. :(

Re: FS: Diodeless Projectors. Only 2 Left!!! Dammit, now there's only one left, I'd better quickly decide... Really? What about the other parts? Are the lenses glass? How many fans? I *might* want the last one, just wanting a answer first :).

Prive check on 500 mW LAser!

From the 2 videos of it I saw, I wouldn't think it's 500 mw... Maybe 200-400mw. Is it focusable? If not, then it's pretty much worthless for burning.
