Buying a Wicked Laser thru a Third Party Source

There is no official system in place for trading. We all rely on mutual trust, or at worst, a trusted middle man such as an older forum veteran. You simply contact Laser Chick, grab her Paypal address or whatever her preferred method of payment is, pay, and wait for the laser to arrive.

9 year travel ends tomorrow! New Horizons!

For better or worse, Charon didn't end up being a Mass Relay. Yet. We should comb through every inch of Mars to be sure. [/mass effect reference]

Rare Wavelength from Cytometry Machine!! All wavelength added!!!!!

Yeah, I was just about to say that "laser" keyword search produces zero results in that book :p C'mon, I think it's time to let it go. Our ever-increasing curiosity and enthusiasm for new technologies got played. It was fun :D Time to move on.

Rare Wavelength from Cytometry Machine!! All wavelength added!!!!!

There, on a whim I went to reproduce the exact color of his alleged "503nm" diode. It's the easiest to do with Green color, only need to nudge the green hue a bit without changing the rest of the picture much. My best at color reproduction: IF IT'S NOT CLEAR, THESE ARE FAKE, I MADE THEM BY...

Rare Wavelength from Cytometry Machine!! All wavelength added!!!!!

Alright yeah my benefit of the doubt officially ran out. I call bullshit. 1) Anybody can do a simple color swap. GIMP software, 1.5 seconds of work. 2) How inhumanly difficult can it be to post a picture of the damned machine in question? 3) My original question STILL went unanswered -...

    How do I fix this??

What does that mean, you "changed position"? If you flipped the battery around to incorrect orientation and tried turning on the laser, there's a good chance you fried either the driver electronics or the laser diode.

5mW 650nm diode and driver problems [Need Help]

That's actually not true. Einstein mastered differential and integral calculus by the time he finished high school and had his parents buy him more books from which to study from. Albert Einstein Did Not Fail at Mathematics in School You can google the sh't out of the myth if you want. Tons of...

Rare Wavelength from Cytometry Machine!! All wavelength added!!!!!

Re: Rare Wavelength from Cytometry Machine Update!!! Photo Added!!! and More coming. The things I'd do with infinite money... ...buy a cytometry machine, probably. :D Until then, 2W 462nm diode from DTR's look interesting.

Rare Wavelength from Cytometry Machine!! All wavelength added!!!!!

Re: Rare Wavelength from Cytometry Machine Update!!! Photo Added!!! and More coming. 473nm diodes would be great, as long as they don't cost an arm, a leg, a kidney and a firstborn. Damn I'm out of the loop. Link to 100mW 473nm availability and pricing?

    Femtosecond laser holograms

I doubt it could be a pumped YAG or other neodymium - no pumping source works that fast. Even common diode semiconductors take what, a dozen nanoseconds to switch states? So how can they claim femto-second level switching? Another thing, femtosecond level speeds are somewhat irrelevant if...

Rare Wavelength from Cytometry Machine!! All wavelength added!!!!!

Re: Rare Wavelength from Cytometry Machine Update!!! Photo Added!!! and More coming. I don't care about precise wavelength, 503 or 506, plus minus 3nm : meh. Point is, as you provided some availability info, OP is currently the only one with 503nm diode handheld and judging from the...

5mW 650nm diode and driver problems [Need Help]

Yeah, first and foremost: DO NOT USE NON-PERMANENT CONNECTIONS - Breadboards, alligator clips, twisted wires, the sort. Lasers make up for extremely delicate electronic circuits and must NOT have their connections at or after the driver interrupted. You're allowed only to interrupt the power...

Rare Wavelength from Cytometry Machine!! All wavelength added!!!!!

Re: Rare Wavelength from Cytometry Machine Update!!! Photo Added!!! and More coming. This^ What are you running the diode with, at what current? Holy crap the pictures are unbelievable. 503nm handheld, at THAT high power level the beam is so sharply visible is something new. Can anybody...

    Femtosecond laser holograms

Hey people, Came across this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AoWi10YVmfE It's basically the idea we've all been around at, earlier - using the breaking of air with high intensity focused laser to create a hologram mid-air. We all kinda dropped it at the idea that sticking your hand...

Does anyone have any info on the laser in this? xbox 360 HOP-141X

No problems. Also if you have bit of a specific problem you don't feel like reviving the thread over (or creating new thread), feel free to send me a Personal Message, I'll get back to you ASAP.

Does anyone have any info on the laser in this? xbox 360 HOP-141X

Sure, 405nm diodes are awesome to use, it's the unnatural color of the light that makes it so "unreal". Make sure to triple-check your driver setup BEFORE you hook up your diode to anything. Use a test load, or dummy load, verify the driver's output, and only then solder on the diode. Never...

Does anyone have any info on the laser in this? xbox 360 HOP-141X

No need to bold the words. We may play with lasers but we can see just fine. :na: X360 and PS3 laser diodes aren't worth harvesting, as far as I can remember that period. They are weak reader diodes, and will go up to maybe 15mW if you are very lucky, and one of those two comes in a very weird...

Optimal current for 300mW 808nm diode

Yeah you burned the diode out. That is literally the worst possible "setup procedure" I have ever heard of. Because of this, I hate potentiometers and drivers that incorporate them. They are never reliable, ever. Use this schematic for future: 300mW IR diode requires what, aprox 350mA...

    besy way to record lasers?

Or, you know, like I said, everything's in ambient lighting levels and your camera's exposure settings. My post does appear up there, right?

    Dangerous Laser, Need 101ing!

It's bad for the eyes if it gets directly into the eyes. Simply "being emitted" isn't bad for anything. Sun's light contains wider spectrum of IR than that. We're all still alive and well :D @Ryan, yours is a freak occurrence, IMO. I have measured unfiltered 400mW greenie, maybe 50mW of that...
