    B> YAG/KTP Mounts

Does the beam goes through the center of your mount (with a hole in it)? If your pump beam goes parallel to the copper plane than you need to mount the crystal 90° to it. There is a preferred axis for this crystals. Singlemode

Nice pictures. What camera and lens are you using for this? Singlemode

    Recent advances in self-frequency-doubling crystals

It is great to read two so different options from LSRFAQ and Paul. Both are well supported. Since I am a realistic optimist I stick with Paul and hope for a new batch of these lasers soon. LSRFAQ points about the small market, research only and s.o. are usually also my arguments but since the...

Great pictures, thanks for sharing! Singlemode

    Concave mirror radius

Hit the mirror with a well collimated beam at a slight angle so the reflection is separated from the incident beam. Then you can measure the focal lenght pretty well. Singlemode

    Interesting new laser...

Nice read, thank you for posting. Compared to the other article, this laser is also stable on a sub cycle scale and can be used for precision measurements. Great work from the guys. Singlemode

    Newb question about DPSS

As allready pointed out, your doubling crystal temperature needs to match the pumping wavelength, at the pumping light needs to be fairly narrow (~O.1 nm or so) or you will waste a lot of your pumping power. That's the reason why usually solid state lasers (DPSS) with narrow emmision lines are...

    Fingerprint pattern on green laser

Remove the lens and look at the uncollimated beam. If it looks smooth, than your lens is dirty and/or broken otherwise the diode got damaged. Singlemode

New site live - please report any questions/issues here

Having this ads on the bottom of my phone all the time (telling me how to clean a bathtub ) is really annoying. I donated to the lpf multiple times in the past, but to have to, just to ged rid of the ads is a no go for me. Singlemode

    Sharp New Favorite!

Nice build and nice wl. Looks like a low wl 505nm diode. I have some 502nm diodes with one running at 501.4nm and this region is just awsome! Singlemode

I would try to add glue around the small pot. Shouldn't come off so easily (hope so) Singlemode

Three (3 ) Axis Adjustable LD Mount

I am willing to bet (and spend my winnings to the LPF) that you are not able adjust with 0.001mm (even 0.01mm). You definitely can find a position where the beam is straight over the length you are looking, but has nothing to do with precision. Best Singlemode
