GGW-H20L 6x Sled GB!!! THE EPIC GB THREAD LAWL!!!

Re: GGW-H20L 6x Sled GB!!! THE EPIC GB THREAD LAWL Nice synopsis! What I meant by this earlier statement was simply that any higher power BLD could be used for a low power pointer as long as the lasing threshold was similar to the PS3 or PHR i.e. in the range of 30-40mA, so that it would...

GGW-H20L 6x Sled GB!!! THE EPIC GB THREAD LAWL!!!

Re: GGW-H20L 6x Sled GB!!! THE EPIC GB THREAD LAWL So, following this logic, then, would you say that it is not all that likely that 6X sleds will become available in cheap mass quantities like the PHRs unless they suffer the same unexpected obsolescence of the HD DVD units? I am asking this...

GGW-H20L 6x Sled GB!!! THE EPIC GB THREAD LAWL!!!

Re: GGW-H20L 6x Sled GB!!! THE EPIC GB THREAD LAWL That is a very good point, a lot of us don't think in terms of LOW power. ::) Of course, IF the more powerful diodes were available at a low cost, they could be substituted for PHRs in low power pointers with an almost unlimited lifetime at...

Another AixiZ 50mw 532nm(the new variety) reviewed

Re: Another AixiZ 50mw (the new variety) reviewed Must have ordered mine about the same time, here is my 2 cents worth: Well, the green "Lab" laser arrived yesterday - very fast shipping! It was much smaller than I thought it would be, although I don't know why I though it would be any bigger...

GGW-H20L 6x Sled GB!!! THE EPIC GB THREAD LAWL!!!

Re: GGW-H20L 6x Sled GB!!! THE EPIC GB THREAD LAWL That may be true, however, as time goes on, this same process would apply to the 6X, then the 12X, etc. So why worry about the PHRs running out when we will all be wanting the more powerful ones anyway? I know I won't be looking over my...

GGW-H20L 6x Sled GB!!! THE EPIC GB THREAD LAWL!!!

Re: GGW-H20L 6x Sled GB!!! THE EPIC GB THREAD LAWL Hey, I've noticed that a lot too, kind of like hearing a sour note in a musical passage - Very anointing ... ;D

GGW-H20L 6x Sled GB!!! THE EPIC GB THREAD LAWL!!!

Re: GGW-H20L 6x Sled GB!!! THE EPIC GB THREAD LAWL Can't remember if I posted this anywhere else, but I ran 1 of my 4X's in a life test at 140mW for a few hours, then stepped it up to 150mW, where it died in less than 8 hours :'( It was running continuously on a large fan-cooled heat sink.

Blu-Ray laser popping 14 balloons - kinda funny

Re: Blu-Ray laser popping 14 balloons Yea, this was the second try. In the first attempt, 3 of the balloons got away and I thought it would look dumb to run down the hallway and push them back. The second time I glued the suckers to the floor, but the glue hadn't quite dried on that last one! ;)

Re: GGW-H20L 6x Sled GB!!! THE EPIC GB THREAD LAWL Igor, just to be clear - is Power in your plots - After a clear acrylic lens?

    Pulse Driven Laser

The diodes don't mind at all, as they can handle pulsing well in excess of nanosecond speeds, but the driver is another matter altogether. The drivers in these pointers, as well as in most of the CW DIY projects tend to filter out any incoming pulses. You could do it at a slow rate, but probably...

GGW-H20L 6x Sled GB!!! THE EPIC GB THREAD LAWL!!!

Re: GGW-H20L 6x Sled GB!!! THE EPIC GB THREAD LAWL No 4x's for me unless the price drops to like $12 per, LOL! ;) But I would agree to wait for a while longer for 6X's if that is what the rest want to do. I would NOT recommend doing chargebacks if we can help it. :P And a big thanks to AMK...

Blu-Ray laser popping 14 balloons - kinda funny

After seeing the famous 20 balloon pop using a 300mW green laser, I just had to do this with a Bluray... It sure is hard to get the balloons to stay put though... URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNcxWgdZIis If my hallway were longer I could have done 20 ;).

GGW-H20L 6x Sled GB!!! THE EPIC GB THREAD LAWL!!!

Re: GGW-H20L 6x Sled GB!!! THE EPIC GB THREAD LAWL I would have to agree with daguin, chopper, Kenom, and maxkillz, unfortunately :( AMK, is there really any doubt the suppliers would contact YOU when they have the sleds? I have even had a supplier PM ME about PHR sleds, and I have never even...

GGW-H20L 6x Sled GB!!! THE EPIC GB THREAD LAWL!!!

Re: GGW-H20L 6x Sled GB!!! THE EPIC GB THREAD LAWL Just paid for 2 more. Maybe it WILL make it to 100. ;)

    homemade laser spectrometer.

Thanks for the link. The seller has 500 line/1000 line pairs for around $10 with free shipping, so ordered a pair. I would like to get a better idea of the wavelength variations in some different bluray diodes and even a few reds. I can actually see the effect of Red diodes wavelength...

    50mW aiXiz Green Labby

I just ordered one of these yesterday. They have more than 10 left. :) http://cgi.ebay.com/50mw-tunable-532nm-with-AC-90-240VAC-power-supply-laser_W0QQitemZ360111606517QQihZ023QQcategoryZ53141QQcmdZViewItem

    homemade laser spectrometer.

OMG Kenom, this is a real classic experiment! 8-) I would love to try making one, and the photos make it look easy enough... Is the diffraction grating anything special? Where would one obtain this for a reasonable fee? Anyway, thanks for posting this. If it can be made sensitive enough, I...

GGW-H20L 6x Sled GB!!! THE EPIC GB THREAD LAWL!!!

Re: GGW-H20L 6x Sled GB!!! THE EPIC GB THREAD LAWL I would add at least 2 more to my order if these prove out to be 6x diodes :)

    possible 3$ boost circuit

Exactly. And because of the current requirement (1Amp+), a 1.5V AAA battery would simply not hold up long enough for this to be practical. Don't forget they do make a AAA size LI-Ion 3.6-4.2V battery. You could combine one of these with one of Drlava's drivers and actually make this work, but...

GGW-H20L 6x Sled GB!!! THE EPIC GB THREAD LAWL!!!

Re: GGW-H20L 6x Sled GB!!! THE EPIC GB THREAD LAWL Nice High-res plot, Igor! I don't think I've seen any PHR diodes with a Vf above 6V and still live. With a higher Vf, these diodes will use more power than a PHR at a given current... These are "weak". ::)
