Re: GGW-H20L 6x Sled GB!!! THE EPIC GB THREAD LAWL Can't remember if I posted this anywhere else, but I ran 1 of my 4X's in a life test at 140mW for a few hours, then stepped it up to 150mW, where it died in less than 8 hours :'( It was running continuously on a large fan-cooled heat sink.

Re: Blu-Ray laser popping 14 balloons Yea, this was the second try. In the first attempt, 3 of the balloons got away and I thought it would look dumb to run down the hallway and push them back. The second time I glued the suckers to the floor, but the glue hadn't quite dried on that last one! ;)

The diodes don't mind at all, as they can handle pulsing well in excess of nanosecond speeds, but the driver is another matter altogether. The drivers in these pointers, as well as in most of the CW DIY projects tend to filter out any incoming pulses. You could do it at a slow rate, but probably...

Exactly. And because of the current requirement (1Amp+), a 1.5V AAA battery would simply not hold up long enough for this to be practical. Don't forget they do make a AAA size LI-Ion 3.6-4.2V battery. You could combine one of these with one of Drlava's drivers and actually make this work, but...
