My question I guess stems from what has been seen of the 8x diodes requiring more voltage at higher mA's. Does a test load for accurate mA setting need to be made? Should more voltage drop diodes be attached?

i didnt mean that they are overpriced. my bad. i meant that i am short on cash. should have said that i'll rather have to wait a week or two until i have an extra $15 laying around (poor college student). and also poor because i just did buy a 8x. let you know soon though.

operation on 2 primary AAA 1.5v batties would work to power a phr as well? (and is it possible to set it to 100mA so not to burn out the 803t too early?)

great! if we can get the $2 discount I guess i'll go with getting it harvested just to protect my investment from the haste it might encounter due to my excitement when i receive it. Im sure we'll get 2-3 more on the boat so I'll take the harvested. Thanks Andrew!!

haha yeah i had some issues with my first couple of 803ts too. This was my first 6x i burned out. it'd been a while since i had put anything together and i was sizing up the diode pins to the driver when i accidently touched them to the driver without shorting the caps.... oh well. but thanks...

wow great to know. A bit out of my price range right now. Also if i buy a 8x i want to be able to power it fully with something other than a flexdrive. And right now, as you probably know, there isnt a driver that i can make that will run off of 3.7v (the 6x is going back into my kyrton barrel)...
