    Biological reasons for color perception

So anyway, I'm still trying to understand this. I found an equation here on luminous flux. I like luminous flux, and would like to describe all my lasers in terms of how many lumens they produce. This would be a description of how bright the laser appears, which I would find much more practical...

Infrared Lasers: Do They All Burn?

If you click the edit button the third button on the left of that edit box will allow you to delete a post yourself. Moderators around here normally don't delete a post unless it contains prohibited content, you can do it yourself. Additionally, it would make things look prettier in the above...

Infrared Lasers: Do They All Burn?

 Nice emoticon, indeed. Have you now lost all ability to form a coherent sentence? And while we are on the subject, what is with this bizarre confession that you posted during your redrep rage? Who's member, exactly, are you talking about, and why should I care how much you...

Infrared Lasers: Do They All Burn?

I'm glad you like them :) I live in Southern Oregon. Here is another pair that I wasn't sure if I would post since they aren't taken at exactly the same angle. Despite that, this is probably my favorite pair.

Lazy Fedex worker caught in the act.

Funny, but sad. Sad, but funny. +1

Infrared Lasers: Do They All Burn?

I would defiantly go with a still camera. You can find some of them with a quite large screen. In fact, you can find some that are nothing but a screen across the whole back. Plus, you might find the flash useful at some point. I have a Cannon PowerShot A590. It can see IR quite well, I didn't...

    Lasers and airports

When I called the TSA about a month ago and asked the person in charge what I could bring through check in she could find nothing about lasers so long as they did not have lithium batteries. Obviously you know what a lithium battery is, but she had no idea. If she found a battery in check in...

Video proof the Krapton ain't IR filtered

LOL. Well you know what they say, "when all you have is a hammer, the whole world looks like a nail.";)

Ahh yes, scammers getting angry at being ousted. It happens to anyone who speaks out against anyone around here, no matter how well deserved. Count yourself lucky, when I outsted bennitt as a troll he went into a redrep rage.

Video proof the Krapton ain't IR filtered

o.0 An IR filter will filter out some percentage of IR. For a laser that powerful even a filter that filtered out 99% would be visible on camera once you filter out (almost) all of the green. What that kid is seeing could easily be the small percentage of IR that is getting through the filter.

Infrared Lasers: Do They All Burn?

It's simple, some cameras use an IR light to focus before taking the picture. Your cheap Chinese camera doesn't. I think you're just jumping to conclusions. Anyhow, why are you still trying to troll this thread bennitt? Can you really think of nothing except trying to make me look bad? I would...

Infrared Lasers: Do They All Burn?

If you buy a "consumer grade" camera as opposed to a "professional grade" camera it will probably not have an IR filter. However, you can easily test the display models in the store to see if they can see 940nm, just take any remote with you. If you press a button on the remote you will see...

    Spring for green laser module?

you can rob one from a cheap flashlight, or a cheap tape player, or a cheap mp3 player. Anything that takes batteries and you don't need anymore. You could also go to radio crap, they have parts like that.

    445nm Giveaway!!

I've never seen this many people agree about anything on a webforum!

Infrared Lasers: Do They All Burn?

Yes, it's more expensive to find something that detects further up on that scale. Cameras that can see 940nm are everywhere. I expect that lasers that output above 1064nm are probably expensive and rare too... at least I've never heard of one. I say use the best equipment for the job. Why try...

    Green VS 445 really??

I have defiantly found the chart to be off in respect to the single mode 450nms. I never thought about why, but this makes sense. It's a great tool and I don't mean to put it down in any way, but it misled me when I tried to order a 450nm. Looks like the data table should be corrected.

    Cutting aluminum

o.0 I don't understand that redrep either. It seems to me that people in general are very random about who they give reps to and why.

    Thread dedicated to animals

To tell the truth, it's not my computer that I'm worried about. I can see some jitter when scrolling, but I know that if it's affecting me in any kind of noticeable way than those with slower computers will be affected a lot more. Some people amuse themselves on the internet through forums just...
