DX is the way to go with a laser for almost nothing. Ebay has all these scams. They may say 50mw, but it might only be 10mw. One of my youtube friends got 1 from ebay and the label said 100mw, but his DX 50 was brighter! :-? At least with DX you know you get a fresh one.

For some reason, I(and my friends) can see an aura rings around the dot. I know for sure its an illusion cause I can see the aura when I point it at my finger and it still shows up where nothing is there. I happens when you look at the dot. Why?

I'm using a 1k pot from radioshack. You can use it, but it will be really sensitive to even a slightest movement. set it then hot glue it so it won't move and kill your laser while running.

You may use a pot if you want, but it won't be much better for the diode. Daedal has made a circuit to run a diode safely and get several thousand hours of diode life. Doing a minimag design is not a good idea. You might get a minute or so, maybe even a second if your unlucky. :o If you...

In CA, a huge fog rushes across the sky in the morning. I don't know why that is, but I never used my laser in it. it happens right next to the beach.
