I was wondering. If I ripped the optics from a green DX laser, could I put a high-powered IR behind the optics? I know I won't be able to fit it into the case again, but could I set up the optics again on something else? Just wondering.

I'm using one of those 9.6 volt packs. I prefer the Ni-MH though. I've gotten a total of 7 hours on a battery charge.

I think the key here is making sure nobody sees you playing with it.  Like me, someone snithed cause I was shining it around the place.  It makes me mad because it wasn't any of that persons business.  People are scared that everyone is out to get them and kill people.   I'm sure everyone here...

I don't know if they were cops or not. They were driving 2 dark Blue SUV's and both had spinning and flashing blue lights at the top. If your lucky, they won't hassle yoiu. Besides, I don't think that carry around a laser power meter to see if your using yours illegally ;D

I only use them when burning stuff or indoors. The whole point of using my red laser outside is to point at stuff and stare at the beam. Wearing shades takes away from that experience. :(

I heard somewhere that a thick piece of glass blocks infrared.  I took a picture of my hand behind a piece of glass with an IR camera and it wasn't there! :o I wonder if this could be used. :-/

might just be easier to buy a cheap one. What mw power green is required to see the beam nicely outside with no fog?
