If You've Actually Received Your Spyder III Arctic - Post Here

The lens doesn't need to dissipate heat? If no, the tape would be fine but they spent a bit of effort to get some kind heat sink around the lens.

Did it have epoxy in it when delivered to you, if so, dab a bit back on. If it didn't put a little epoxy in there. Simple fix to a simple issue. I wouldn't say it sucks, just not perfect.

Different design's. Can anyone put manufacture name to the lens? Mine Mickey's

If You've Actually Received Your Spyder III Arctic - Post Here

I just took my lens assembly out and it is different than the one he had in his. I'll post a pic of it when I get back from dinner. His tightening piece was on the bottom, mine is on the top along with the groves to remove the lens assembly. The threads on his are full length of the lens...

True, we could very well just be on two different servers.

If You've Actually Received Your Spyder III Arctic - Post Here

I think it looks blue because my naked eyes spoke to my brain last night while my hand was shining the laser into the sky... The eyes told my brain, "hey dude, that's a pretty deep blue" and my brain agreed. Mean old wife would not come outside to look at it but I will ask someone else for...

    WL Arctic LaserShields Transmittance Scan

Thank you for running the detailed test and providing the info. Seems to validate a post I read that someone got 9mw thru the shades. I'm happy with the 445 result. Not what they claim but ~8mw seems much safer than the cheap 50mw pens that a lot of people use without any protection.

If You've Actually Received Your Spyder III Arctic - Post Here

Anybody recall seeing a post about power output before and after "beam correction" prior to all the deletes? I was shining it in the sky last night (beautiful dark blue wad reaching to the heavens), but I noticed that there was a good bit of blue light illuminating a structure next to me. It...

Be careful with those Wicked Safety Glasses

Thank y'all. When I had Goggled oem AND laser, oemlasersystems came up first but there were a lot of others that were also pulled up in that search. Side note, some what laser related, NewEgg now has a Blu-Ray burner for $99 (and printable disks ~$1.60ea in 25 pack), ordered one this last...

    Ebay $9 blu-ray pens: GREAT!

I just noticed that these are the exact same host as the (all black) ledshoppe host. I suspect that all these pens, this seller, ledshoppe and many others, are manufactured at the same facility, and power output is simply a small adjustment of the pot. Am I correct that these come with an...

    Ebay $9 blu-ray pens: GREAT!

I just got mine today and noticed the same "dots" effect but took some pictures to verify and it turned out to be just the one dot. The "dots" effect must be an optical illusion as someone else I showed it to at work also commented about the dots around the bright spot. Playing with it at...

Is you an Engineer or something?

man, if you can just get thru it now, you wont have to use it everything in your job. Job just likes to know you are capable of doing it. What you actually do for a job may just be some obscure bit that you learned in school. I worked a job for seven years that was an expansion of just one...

Is you an Engineer or something?

Thank you but it was intentional, a play on words (not to be taken at face value). In my mind, the PE doesn’t mean anything as far as intelligence goes, it means someone studied enough to pass a test. My hand was forced to take the exam. The degree though, that’s some dedication. No one gets...

Is you an Engineer or something?

Did not mean to offend Jerry. I asked a similar question on a car forum, as there are quite a few people there that know how to solve unique problems. It turned out to be a lengthy and positive thread with post from people in school for it to those graduated in a variety of engineering...

Is you an Engineer or something?

Me or just in general? That's a good question. Is the school ABET accredited.. I shake my head when reading applications from people with an "engineering degree" from a non accredited school. Me, University of Texas, Arlington. The BS is supplemented with P.E. after my name. You?

Is you an Engineer or something?

Well, as the title states, are you an engineer. Degreed physicist and what not can also post, just give your back ground. It would be interesting to know the formal education on the forum.

You just neg'd me and said my English sucks. I don’t think you meant that for me? If you could, please rerep me with an apology or if you really meant that for me, sorry. English is my only language and though I spell poorly, I spell check everything. Cheers

Re: Ordered 50mw ledshoppe pointer (received) Yey, apparently it’s not very popular for a newb to express discontent with a vets actions (and not a dig on you but could not believe I was being thumped on again for simply mentioning I had ordered an "that word". I was a little pissed about the...
