There is no way on going wrong with Jay's kits, I got one from him: Building Laser Pointers Using the 445nm Laser Diodes As Morgan is saying, it was just a matter of basic soldering, it also encourage me to the point to start again building my own. :D Give it a shot!

Though so :D I saw the same model at the San Diego store. The 473nm is really a nice "blue" beam, I liked it and looked into getting a module but they were, are, really expensive. Hopefully with the 445nm's so inexpensive, the 473nm will come down to were is attractive to my pocket.

Does yours have the blueshing coating (for red lasers)? Or is is yellowish (for violet lasers)?

Yes, made solder jump and I can see that things burn faster and the drain the battery is faster. I went around town today to pick the components to build a load test. I will let you know what currents I am getting. Also, as soon as I receive my LPM, I will check to power output.

Thanks. Same goes with the diodes, they too will overheat. So this where the LM350 would come handy, to prevent going into protection, and the 1N5402s from going into melt down. However, the heat would still need to be dissipated...

Can you tell me a little more about your 2R2 resistors? How many ohms are they, 2.2 ohms?
