Wicked Lasers products not FDA approved

Yeah twhite, I saw. And your advertising argument is valid. Maybe we should take all the illegal lasers we own off our sigs. Who knows when the Feds will come knocking to retrieve them? :tinfoil:

Wicked Lasers products not FDA approved

Trying to make their laser safe, yes. At least there is a safety pin, an electronic lockout and a low power lens on the Arctic. What are the safety devices on the others I mentioned?

    Review of the Rayfoss RF445-1W-FTB

I hope the purchase date was a typo and you meant 11-3-10. Otherwise you set a record for waiting on a laser. ;) A laser that uses two 3.7V batteries is operating on 7.4V. I'm surprised it even lit with the 3.7V 18650.

    Don't poke the bear! :D

Wicked Lasers products not FDA approved

At least they are trying. There are companies shipping in lasers with no attempt to make them safe, but no one is posting complaints about them. Where are the posts: Dragon Lasers, Rayfoss, O-Like, Boblaser, Lyvilaser, etc. products are not FDA approved and the FDA is seeking customer lists...

Yet another - Wicked Lasers Arctic Spyder III laser review - [very image heavy!!]

They tested around 3.5V when I pulled them out. I suspect under load the voltage is lower.

Yet another - Wicked Lasers Arctic Spyder III laser review - [very image heavy!!]

The Tenergy 2600 protected cells do not have a protruding + terminal and fit just fine if you want to use a protected cell. The Tenergy lasted 2 hrs vs 1hr 20 min on the factory Sanyo. The Arctic shuts down between 3.5V and 3.6V, so there is no risk of depleting an unprotected cell. The...

    Super Beast Green

Beast came in today. Came in brown envelope in bubble wrap. Here it is compared to 405nm pen: End cap had some paint overspray on it. Easy enough to sand off: Charged battery using 3.7V charger. (4.2V cutoff) Pulled out battery at 3.8V. Popped it in and --wow-- :D Battery didn't...

Still having problems with my arctic

I ran my G2 till the battery expired to see what happens. It lasted 1 hr 20 min with the stock Sanyo battery. It went out and the 3 diodes were blinking. You should get a volt meter and see where the battery is at. Fully charged it should be ~4.2V. The laser cuts off at 3.6V. The latest WL...

Care and feeding of your Arctic beast part (G)2

The beam doesn't actually rotate. It just expands at different angles when it passes through a round lens:

    IR filter power loss

I broke my filter into 2 pieces and tried again. Measured a modded 5W green. Without a filter it stabilized at 61mW With one filter it was 45mW, 16mW drop With 2 filters it was 36mW. 9mW is a 20% drop, not much different than the 18% I got measuring a non IR laser with larger numbers. So...

Care and feeding of your Arctic beast part (G)2

I got around 40mW off the flashlight lens. Hardly any measurable reflection off the line and cross lenses.
