    my new 1W 589nm labby!!!

http://www.cnilaser.com/PDF/MGL-W-589.pdf Who wants to ask them how much it costs? :undecided: :p

    How gas-ion lasers work

Nice. I just proved brewster's angle with a PHR and one of those 3d model cubes. (the ones with little bubbles inside a clear cube) Cool stuff, to get no reflection you have to have the angle and the rotation exactly right.

    My new project! (BIG pics!)

Try to limit the axial inertia as much as possible, the easier it rotates, the faster is goes. If you can get the mirror in line with the axle of the reading arm, and cut of the rest of the arm, you'll have a faster end product. As far as physical limitations go, it's not a good idea, you get...

CR123A 3 volt primary cells FS

Re: CR123A primary cells for sale These aren't rechargeable cells. The word "primary" indicates that. You may have got a good deal after all.

Lithium "D" cell 3volt primary cells FS

Might take you a few hours to empty that battery on the test setup.... 7.6Ah estimated... Good luck with it!

Lithium "D" cell 3volt primary cells FS

Do you have the weight of the cells? There are Wh/kg estimations on Li/SO2 cells. Ussually around 250Wh/kg.

That testing that you've done, any measurements of capacity? An estimation from you would be just as good.

    Hakko USA (Soldering Products)

Because the 907 is already very small. If you're used to an iron that plugs in the wall, the size and weight of the 907 will surpise you. As far as laser builds go, it's nowhere near too big.

Damn you're fast. 39 minutes after OP.

Backup on the items (18650+new flex) dave took.... Just in case.

proper power setting for rgv projector

Chroma is also nice for getting precise luminosity value for different wavelengths. Comparing brightness of 405nm and 450nm diodes for example. :P

    Hakko USA (Soldering Products)

I also use hakko, and can recommend them. I have the 936 with the 907.

Favourite comic had a laser related strip.

The xkcd forum had people calculating it. They were getting around ~0.85 ohms with that conductor as a resistor, and ~0.77 ohms with it as written.

    About this diode

Both will work perfectly fine. With the microboost, you can only use one lithium battery.

powering a green module off a higher voltage lm317

Yes you "stick it in front" of the original driver. That other pin "adj" is the adjust pin, you use it to adjust the output voltage with resistors. R1 as a 240ohm resistor, and R2 as a 330ohm resistor. That will give you Vout as 2.97V, which the driver can handly perfectly fine.

Power a laser with a laser..??..

It would definitely need it's own power supply. If you're really interesting in building it I can draw up the circuit for you.

Power a laser with a laser..??..

The lowest resistance in LDR (light dependant resistors) in commonly available sizes is 5k. This means that in full light, they have a resistance of 5'000 ohms, in dark, ussually 500'000 ohms. This idea could work, but you would use the LDR in a voltage divider controlling a darlington...

Simple Laser Power Meter Using IR Thermometer

Guys, this guide was for using an IR thermometer, exclusively. The point of an IR thermometer is that it's non-contact, it doesn't interfere with the heating of the foil. This works by knowing how much energy it takes to raise the temperature of a piece of foil that size by a certain degree...

    Scanner opinions

Is it true that some galvos can't reach their max scan angle with the +/- 2.5V that is coming from the correction amp? So differential could be necessary?
