    JetLasers 50mW Ti Lite A

INTRO: This is a the JetLasers 50mW Ti Lite A pointer. From the thread here. This was received as a review sample, and a soon to be discontinued model. They say the laser did not meet their expectations, and that many improvements were made. More will be learnt about this in the future...

World’s Largest Depth of Field Laser Hologram

I know about where he works. He works near where I live, in a place called belrose. I knew the roads well enough to understand where he was going.

My favourite blog. He drives past my house in his drivetime rants. :P

Dave is Mean to his Diodes (445 Macros) IMAGE HEAVY

Because the current only travels vertically through the die, between the two metal plates, the current density in this sense is over the constant cross-sectional area perpendicular to the current's movement.

    WTB: Scanpro20 Galvos or Mirrors.

I'd go and post over at photonlexicon. You'd have a much better chance of finding a replacement set of mirrors there. As well has people having the jigs that hold the galvo and mirror in alignment while the glue sets. Good luck. :)

Beam is brighter reflected off mirror?

The beam that you're seeing is just light reflected off particles in the air, or from rayleigh scattering. It looks brighter coming off the mirror as the beam of light is traveling towards you. The scattered light is stronger the closer you get to the direction of the light's travel. The same...

445nm in my scanner *Image Heavy*

... You're in a thread about a scanner. In this sense, a laser scanner is a type of laser projector, it projects beams and graphics with the movement of y and x axis mirrors, and modulation of the laser beams. Plenty of information around, this forum also has a scanner section.

    Multi Meter Thread.

While I'm far from recommending doing it, flukes are designed to protect the user when faults like that occur. HRC (high rupture capacity) fuses, blast shields and HV isolation slots all help with this. Add to that a multitude of input protection, and superb build quality. And you have...

    Multi Meter Thread.

Fluke 87V. Worth about $350US. I wouldn't call in necessary for the laser hobby, it's more for my electronic engineering. But if you know fluke, you know why it's worth it.

Any Li-Ion battery thas has a size similar to...

You'd need about 22mm diameter, and about 50mm long (44mm of the cell and a little extra) the closest you have is a 18500 cell with a bit of extra packing.

    Finished my meter (amp)

Oh, and I forgot to add. It works brilliantly! No noise on the output, never hovers much more than 1mV away from a zeroed output. I'm really happy with the turnout.

    Finished my meter (amp)

So just wanted to post a few pics of my finished meter. I got the head a few months ago, a coherent 210, it outputs 1mV/W. It's a bit impractical so, the amplifier changes that signal to 1mV/mW. Fun exciting black box! I'll add some info on the top later. Thermopile and multimeter in a...

    Weird Radiometer Burning Effect

Carbon doesn't need to get that hot to emit light. Even the yellow part of candle flames is just heated carbon.

    4 LPC in parallel

No, it will distribute current evenly. While it's not perfect, it's pretty close. All the diodes are the same, so we can say that the forward voltages of each one are within a small margin. If V+ is a constant current supply, and the resistors are low value, say... 10ohms, then the current...

    4 LPC in parallel

While that would work, FML raises a valid point. It's easy enough to distribute current equally through the parallel diodes. A resistor in series with each diode.
