thanks alot for the input. as ForthyChimp said, i think due to exposures on the shades the dye may have bleached out a bit. im prob just going to go with the novashades for now.

im becoming increasingly frustrated with my WL 532nm shades. they just dont protect my eyes at all when im using my RPL-400. it seems as though 400mw of green is too much for these goggles to handle. at first they seemed ok but now something is seriously wrong, alot of the green is coming...

maybe a bit foolish from my side, i was only about a foot away from the match as i had to adjust the positioning of the match. maybe it did get through the little gap im not really sure, it just happend so quick. either way just dont feel very safe with the goggles i have.

nice unit! i think its unfair on the herc, people continuously compare it to a baseball bat. its in that huge housing for a reason isnt it. atleast u can disconnect the batteries and power up through the mains to get a stable rated output as long as u want. anyhow im one of many people here...

it was just under 300mw, but i dont think paying customs charges relates to the power of the laser - its more down to the value of the imported item. if your laser was valued at say $500, u may have to pay customs charges of around £50.

northern england here, ordered lasers from many of the top dogs and never had any customs problem, besides once i got charged customs tax for £70.

nice choice! the RPL-225 is still worth every penny all day long! i guess i was lucky, getting a 44mw blue for the price of a 30mw, + a 55mw greenie and international shipping works out alot better than 10%.

in the uk, no shops are really allowed to sell lasers over 1mw. however there is no law which states that owning a high powered laser is illegal. if police were to investigate a laser related incident, it would depend on where the laser was shined, who was around at the time and what was likely...

i keep hearing that at night 20mw of blue appears brighter than 20mw of green but honestly, i dont think you can compare them at all, green is still way brighter than blue. to me, 20mw blue is about the same as 5mw green. by the way, i dont have the 20mw blue anymore, its gone :(

dx red would be best bang for bucks or you could also try andy_con's 130-170mw red or kenoms 275mw red, both focusable.

nice video! i thought it usually takes around 50mw of green to burn things and around 75mw to light a match? blue and green at the same mW, does either have an advantage at burning quicker or does this depend on divergence?
