phoenix77 Hooked me up big time!!!

Very nice, I have a 174mW 6x blu-ray in the same Romisen RC-A2 Cree host. Mine is from IgorT. Seb

    My Eyes! My Eyes!

@ Albert Yes, definitely. If I do not control the laser myself constantly (that means no randomly moving mirrors, no random reflections, no letting friends try), I treat it as if I WILL get a direct shot, and therefore goggles are necessary. Seb

    50mw danger?

Read through some of the later responses, especially those from LSRFAQ in this thread: http://laserpointerforums.com/f53/my-eyes-my-eyes-48440.html It will teach you quite a lot. Seb

    Yellow goggles, Blu-ray blocking

PM sent Glenn. This is a GREAT offer people, and a must if you have a high power blu-ray laser and/or want to experiment with fluorescence. Seb

looking for other ways to contact o-like

Stinkbug, you are the one who should read through things. "ALL EMPLOYEES". That includes everything to do with shipping. Calling someone else uneducated might carry more weight if you write like you are more than 12 yourself  "thru", "b4", "coz", "u", "un-educated". Seb

Hey guys, new here...waiting for my 20 mW green wicked laser

    1) WL have changed their image over the last couple of months, sending out review units where many of them performed very well. It seems they are trying to change their image. Some people still doubt their honesty, and many people think they are overpriced, despite nice designs. Personally I...

    Laser Pointers Take Down Helicopter

I would assume that they know what they are doing enough to only use <5mW pointers, however.. there is a red and a blu-ray in the video which are bound to be more powerful than that, plus two green lasers coming from the right which I would estimate to be at least 30mW. Unless this camera picks...

    My Eyes! My Eyes!

The difference is, with 5mW you can blink before any damage is done - with 10mW, it may damage you before you manage to react. A 2 metre fall can injure you or kill you if you are very unlucky, but most people will just jump down, land, and walk on. A 5 metre fall is likely to sprain your...

    50 mw vs 100 mw

To achieve 2x brightness, you need 4x power. 100mW will therefore appear about 50% brighter. However, from DX a "100mW" will usually be no more than 65-70mW. One beam will not go further than the other - this is light.. it goes on until it is stopped by a tree, a house, particles in the air, a...

    My Eyes! My Eyes!

Now I can definitely agree that the risk is not very large with ~10mW moving, at a distance, etc. However the risk is there, so the problem was exactly that you said "safe". Personally I do have a small black spot, and that was from a brief hit from a 26mW laser my cousin was playing with...

    My Eyes! My Eyes!

15mW is still 10mW above what is eye safe. Also, many other lasers (20mW, 50mW and 150mW) were mentioned here. As far as I remember, polished brass reflectivity is above 66%, meaning that even if the 15mW is the only laser in question, and it is not above spec, you are risking a 10mW direct hit...

looking for other ways to contact o-like

O-like are located in China, where they have many holidays around this time of year. Purchasing from China from late January until early March is not advised. Purchases made before the holidays are likely to get processed, but then not getting shipped until after the holiday. Purchases made when...

    My Eyes! My Eyes!

Traveller, a scanner usually consists of two mirrors turning in a closed loop (galvos). Essentially they just create a vertical and horizontal line, but shine the laser off both at the same time, and you can move the beam to any point within the square they create with incredible speed. Combine...

    Green laser with effects

Very cool. You can get a similar one from DX among other places, but they usually only have one head. They go by the name "kaleidoscopic". Also, 405nm is not blacklight. Is it violet, near UV. A typical blacklight is 365nm. Seb

    My Eyes! My Eyes!

Realistic? By talking about the wrong thing? OP said "Just mount a mirror on a small speaker". This would mean the beam is stationary a large amount of the time. If this hits a piece of brass in the ceiling and reflects into his eye.. YES he will get eye damage. If he was talking about a scanner...
