    1w compilation

Re: 1w convention I'm just in the early stages of embarking on my first 445 DIY from parts supplied here (a Jayrob kit, plus an Ehgemus host) and also own an Arctic S3 and Spartan 1W. I can highly recommend the Spartan as my favorite off-the-shelf 445, as although I haven't bought either of...

Various lenses tested in an Arctic G1

Great comparison between all the main 445 lenses. Thanks.

need help wiring a red driver

Hi, I have the same driver as you currently powering my first host-circuited red. The driver connections are as I've detailed in the attached picture, and the pin diagram is for most red laser diodes, I believe, at least this one is correct for my Rohm LD as well as the "LPC 815". When...

Jayrob SS 18650 & Solarforce L2P Kits (pics)

Re: Jayrob SS 18650 & Solarforce LP2 Kits (pics) Nice post, and pics. Especially for me, because you show us the two host kits that I too was mulling over before placing an order for exactly the same Solarforce kit as you, minus the driver though. I can't wait to get mine and after seeing...

Casio seems to be potting projectors

Makes sense. I totally understand that such issues need to be discussed in detail, but maybe openly airing ideas to get around any measures taken by them is not the best idea when we also know they're currently actively trying to stop this?

reputable company to buy a 10-20 mw green

I can personally recommend Novalasers, Laserglow (both related in some way I think), and Dragonlasers. Customer service and quality are superb. I've bought three X-Series from Novalasers, one Aries from Laserglow, and two Spartan 1W's from Dragonlasers. Service and product quality were top...

Casio seems to be potting projectors

I don't get it. If, as I'd reasonably expect every genuine enthusiast here to be in support of, you don't want to make life harder for ourselves regarding access to these diodes, then why on earth are we all talking about how to get around it all????? If I were a member of team-Casio and I was...

How to build an Arctos multi diode array

I'm simply awestruck! Never have I seen such a beast. I think I'm starting to see the appeal of projectors.

    >1w portable 445 laser with homemade driver (images and video)

Great build, and your English is fine. Really impressive home-made driver. I love the look of it too, very industrial.

First Laser Build - PIC HEAVY!!!

By the way, I just noticed from this pic... ... that your Aixiz module and LD give exactly the same strange line through your dot when focused as I got when I was testing my first DDL breadboard driver with a harvested dvd-writer diode. That was part of the reason I decided to buy a brand...

First Laser Build - PIC HEAVY!!!

Great first build! That switch is on my to-get list for sure. :) It'll be really interesting to see how much power it puts out when you get the chance to measure it. Well done.

    Custom 445 Build

Amazing build! Really inspiring for beginners, and I bet even "vets" could learn a thing or two. I also thought it was funny that after you polish the build by painting it in white, you still leave the tape on that holds the two halves of the case together! Almost as though you want to retain...

"Spectral Beam Combining" leading to laser weapons??!!!

Just came across this while browsing Dvice... ... Spectral Beam Combining could make laser guns a reality | DVICE Inverted prisms, who'd ha' thunk it eh?

LOC active cooled handheld 3 phases

Great post, and one I'll definitely be working towards, active cooling that is, when I get a bit more experience. I always wondered how to fit a fan into warmer builds because I'm about to embark on my first high power red before going onto my first 445, and always came up with ideas that...

I love the last two pictures. Any pics of the inside of your lasers? Thanks.

    Iron Man Glove ^^

Really inspiring job mate. It's such a great example of creativity I can't help but think of other ways to apply lasers. Thanks :)

My first build. By a beginner, for beginners.

^^^^^^^^ No, those holes weren't from the DIY red, but from my Arctic G1. I was just zooming in on them because hawk-eyed-wannaburnstuff noticed the state of my keyboard in one of the pics above. hehe, getting a red to do that sort of damage would be some feat! :)

Have you seen the new WickedLasers site? 49$ for a 100mW green??!!

Yup. The new site layout looks great imo. I'm just waiting for demand to relax a little, to reduce the time to wait for delivery.
