I'm scared to power this up. Opinions?

    i'd say ~$1000 each

I'm scared to power this up. Opinions?

wow, those are some impressive lasers you have (assuming they work). you should look into a nice pair of safety glasses if you plan on powering them up inside. +1

CNI S-GDL-532 and other small green modules

snake creek is good at making very small DPSS lasers however they suffer from the same divergence problems as the CNI modules. unless you plan to use them with a beam expander, they won't be much use.

CNI S-GDL-532 and other small green modules

i don't think those modules would work for you. the modules do not have the optics needed to correct the divergence. The output would be directly off the crystal set, meaning that you would have a very thin beam that expands significantly over a short time.

My Rainbow -- Post Pic's of Yours

    so jelly of that 412nm

    combine beams? Your ideas?

Combining 3 or more beams is a challenge, however two beams can be combined relatively easily. combining an Argon and HeNe using a dichro off a broken HeNe i had.

    lazerer 150 mw module

triple posting tends to be frowned upon here. use the "Edit" button instead.

MicroVision SHOWWX Classic Laser Pico Projector $99

    i thought i might post a beamshot :)

    spot sans beam?

Define "visible" I can see the beam of my 0.6mW GreNe.

    Harvesting / Teardown of the Pico1 Projector - 450nm, 640nm, + non-DPSS Green

In my hunt for laser knowledge, I came across a type of DPSS know as a disk laser (a.k.a. active mirror). I'm still looking into these lasers but from what I've read, they would be perfect for this application. It looks like active mirror may be our culprit. I'll be sure to keep you guys up...

MicroVision SHOWWX Classic Laser Pico Projector $99

i also couldn't resist pulling my projector apart. watch out for the two screws at the bottom, under the sticker. sorry about the dirty paper, it was the closest white object in the garage. had a bit of a scare when I reassembled it and when I turned it on, nothing came out...

LaserCo: Did you charge the projector for 4 hours before you used it?

MicroVision SHOWWX Classic Laser Pico Projector $99

i got mine last Friday, i don't know if i'll be able to modify such a cool little gadget. :D

    first pink bulid questions

My second build was a r/v laser. I wasn't willing at the time to risk running both at once. (the sleds were ~$70 at the time)

    first pink bulid questions

Yeah, it's kind of sloppy as the two wavelengths focus differently (Anyone with a better way to phrase that, feel free to chime in.) I have also heard of some heating issues when running them at the same time. But if you want magenta, that is a quick and dirty method.

Does anyone know if these are compatible with the iphone 4? Worst case, i have to dig up my old ipod...

    first pink bulid questions

I'm talking about the 5 pin blu-ray diode, It has red, infrared, and violet all in the same diode can.

I just got one, can't wait for it to get here. I am not going to be pulling the diodes out of this though.

    first pink bulid questions

those PS3 diodes have a (~20mW) red laser built in. you can just power both up and dial back the red until you get a nice color mix. you can get an easy pink from that.

    LASERchat ban?

ML argon fills in a lot (9) of the gaps. :)
