Not really doing a test of it to see how long one could go, I did have a v2 1.7 amp version powered on with my power supply on a 4vdc test load for about two minutes and it didn't fluctuate at all in output. The board was hot after the test however.

I'll try the heat gun on it, only part to worry about would be the plastic parts of the switch there....

Yep sometimes you get a real strong one. The weakest one I've seen so far was around 330mw with the cheap battery they include with it. Pop in an IMR 18650 or just a name brand one and get a power boost right off the bat. There is also a lens mod on these, there is a thread on that here linked...

the DX one pushes right in, there are tabs on opposite sides which should make good host contact. I've not had time to finish mine yet, after going through 3 or 4 bad switches and killing a 12x diode in the process somehow - lol - I just put it aside until I really have time to work on it...

If you buy these from DX, make sure and buy plenty extra, quality control is awful on them, had 3 bad out of a 5 pack.
