My main point was quality. From cheap chinese unknown sellers and random lasers sites you often get extremely poor quality and the lasers rarely appear to have been tested at all. If you just want a laser and don't really care for it to become anything of a hobby just get a pen or small torch...

I have several <100W 532nm lasers :D Also, don't ever buy from aliexpress. I wouldn't be surprised if 25% of the lasers sold there didn't work out of the box and another 25% that failed less than a month later and maybe <5% of the lasers on there are more than 10% of spec. LOL Good luck...

Good description on Windex :P Also, that's partly my reasoning for using Windex since its pretty much safe for all types of lenses and AR coatings AFAIK. I think the G1/G2 name originated from a model number for the 405-G-1 lens and it was carried over to the newer G2 for simplicity.
