    Wickedlasers Core Diesection Tutorial!

Re: Wickedlasers Core ur gonna pump violet lol?

Looking for a Green over 500mw

I didnt have a metre at the time but my o-like 550mW burnt table legs in seconds from 5foot whilst focused to infinity. my 900mW 445 can barely do that, so dunno what the 532 was running at lol. 250-300 will probably be adequate for what you expect, but if you can afford it I would recommend...

445nm been running all day at almost 1.1W

Not really. The temperature difference between the host/heatsink and the diode is what is important. Sure, if the host gets hotter, it will be dissipating heat into the air faster, but if it stays warm it doesnt matter. your diode is still buggered by being unable to transfer heat to an already...

445nm been running all day at almost 1.1W

if my build gets too warm I run some water over the outer surface of the host. cools the outer layers of the host instantly, keeping the temperature gradients nice and steep :D ofc, you need to be careful the water doesnt get in any openings. Im tempted to turn mine up, but from what I...

Theoretical Maximum Power for Portable Laser

you could try making one out of a chainsaw. then it'd be, like, petrol powered  "how many miles to the gallon?" "uh... around 5*10^12" i've wondered if they might just be able to increase the size and sturdyness or diodes till they can put out 10s of watts. Seems ridiculous to try and...

    Is This feeling normal?

not sure what batteries their 75mW uses, but most of the higher powered lasers (those not in pen hosts) will use 18650s which are rechargeable. Assuming theres a good driver in your laser, I dont think you need to worry too much about output power, the driver should maintain the right current...

    New Laser!!

75mW is a nice starter but I wouldnt worry as much as everyone is making out. Directly hitting yourself with the beam or from a mirror will likely cause some damage but otherwise it'll be quite hard to hurt your eyes from a 75mW. Even the glossy but not overly reflective things like laminated...

    lpf is like a family

I do think the moderation at times is a bit heavy handed for me to return that sentiment truthfuly.

did anyone have any weird ideas as kids?

the reason a static charge attracts water is because of the allignment idea. this doesnt rule out a sudden reversal of polarity repelling the water. and I dont know what you mean about messing with the earths magnetic field. if you mean, simply affect it in some way then all magnets do. I dont...

I'm wanting to buy a blue laser is this a good one and good site?

well, the 1W will burn better and have a more visible beam. the divergence really isnt bad at all, can point at least 100m and be a good dot. i'd recommend the 400mW if you wanted it specificaly for pointing but otherwise 1W will probably be better.

Do you carry your laser as self defense at night?

not specificaly for defense, but I do like having a couple of pointers on hand just in case, mostly for pointing opportunities. But I think, if confronted by someone, the solid bright beam of the 445 combined with a warning that I can blind them instantly should be enough to deter most drunken...

1 watt 447nm Laser Pointers from Dragonlasers Now Available

considering the CNI prices, the spartan is a great price even without glasses.

WTB: 500mW-750mW 405nm "Blue Ray" Laser

spartan is pretty much guaranteed to be great quality because dragon lasers get their stuff from CNI, a high quality manufacturer. Of course, its not hard to build one ( i recommend SS 18650 host from jayrob) but tbh its easier and you'd have it quicker from dragon lasers. Unless they have stock...

has your laser ever gotten you into trouble?

well there was potential trouble about half an hour ago. was outside my sisters house waiting for my mum to pick me up. was shining my 445 and a few others around. the 445 at 900mW is a proper solid, luminous beam lol, pretty impressive at night. anyway to the left and right of us I could hear...

    Alternative to WL's Arctic?

depends what the driver is set to. on my build with boostdrive, it starts 900mW then slowly crawls down, about a mW a second. then upon turning it back on after a cooldown period, it starts again but starting maybe at 890mW. doesnt eat batteries as fast as you would think.
  19. Fonduman

    Alternative to WL's Arctic?

bear in mind you will need tools etc for a build, and some technical knowledge. you've probably noticed by now though lol

Oh no Kipkay and lasers again

lol on his flashlight hack someones commented im not sure if thats sarcasm but its sad there are people ignorant enough to think taking a dvd diode and sticking it into the front of a flashlight is creative, and watching the video of how to do it :wtf:
