    Proving the dangers?

    For those 100mW< lasers, you could always make them go through a "test". Make a black dot on their skin with a marker, hold the laser up to it a point blank, and shine it on their skin for 10 seconds. Then remind them what that could do to their eyes.

    FS: Laserglow Galileo (Old style)

    Up for sale is a Laserglow Galileo laser. It has been pot modded to an estimated 15mWs.     One of the members here had a 3kW pulsed YAG laser... IIRC the CW equivalent was about 200-300mW.

    Heatsink and beam question 2 in 1

    As billg said, the closer the heatsink to the source emitting the heat, the better it can sink the heat. And it looks like you have some scatter, if it's not caused by a dirty focusing lens, the optic piece on your diode might be dirty.

    It's not mine, I just saw the listing on eBay. @Daguin: Since it doesn't seem to outrageously overpowered (< 1 Watt), and considering it's a multiline laser, I'd assume the output would be ~100mW.

    Cheep green laser for first show build..

    You're going to need lab style lasers. I would recommend this one. Good heatsinking is a must, so portable lasers are out of the question (Unless it's a Hercules).

    I practiced JKD and Muay Thai, I'm going to start back up with Muay Thai as soon as I get my license (less than 1 month). I may be slightly out of practice but my crosses would make anyone under 200 lbs fall to the ground.
