    Hard decision

Well both are just hobbies and I don't earn money with either lasers or photography. Of course if I'll ask this on a camera forum(which I'm also member of) they will surely tell me to choose the lens and don't waste money. However I know that there are people here who also like photography so I...

    Headache from studying

Currently I'm on a 2week bootcamp in Germany studing for my Cisco CCIE security lab exam (which is scheduled on october 29 in Brussels) Days are very long (9:00 to 21:00) just 2 more days to go. But at least if I pass the exam I'll have more money to spend one lasers (and other stuff of course) :)

    Hard decision

For quite a long time I have two items on my wishlist. First is the RPL-300 from Optotronics & second is a Canon lens for my digital camera.(24-105mm f4 L) Today sept 24 the RPL300 is 697 euros(changes every day) and this lens is 890 euros Lasers and photography are my two most expensive...

    bit of help please

For astronomy I recommend the Aries 20 from Laserglow. Then you don't have to worry about the maximum time you can leave it on and still isn't so bright that it ruins your night vision

    US, say goodbye to DL...

I'm not from the US or Australia but still it's sad to see peoples hobbies be ruined by laws which were created because of a small group of morons(who shine their lasers on planes and helicopters). In the US you can still get the FDA compliant products but in AUS it's essentially end of...

    Strange battery behavior

I'll try to revive the battery this weekend, The laser itself is indeed very nice, Igor did an excellent job, I'm using it almost every day.

    Strange battery behavior

It's using a single 14500 and puts out 132mw , (it's a blu-ray made by IgorT) How do you remove the protective circuit from a battery? And can this be the cause for a fully charged battery not functioning even if it is charged?

    Strange battery behavior

    Yes these are protected batteries.

    Strange battery behavior

For my blue-ray laser I'm using the blue trustfire batteries from DX (14500 800mah 3.7V Li-ion) But then after charging it it didn't work anymore. It measured 4.18v with DMM then I tried a second battery which worked fine. After a few minutes I tried the first battery again and it worked so how...

    IgorT Blu-Ray 121mw Review

I agree with this review, I also have a Blu-ray from IgorT(132mW) and it burns very well when you have the right focus. It even burns a white wooden door and all colors and sizes of matches(not only the tip but it can write on wood of the match itself) And if you use a fog machine the violet...

You know you are addicted when...

When you see a kid with a balloon and the first thing you think of is the color of the laser that is able to pop it.

    Green + Violet?

I've tried this with my 132mW blu-ray and it slightly looks like cyan, but the only green I have is 98mW so there too much green. However when I combine blu-ray with the DX200 red it became magenta.

    Smoke machine effect on lasers?

Mmm I'll be careful with it then, The least I can do is to keep the door a little bit open for ventilation the smoke can be pretty dense sometimes, but it's based on water. Maybe the use of the highest quality smokefluid helps to prevent damage.

    Smoke machine effect on lasers?

Recently I purchased a small smoke machine to increase the effects of my laserpointers. And it indeed works very good, even my 1mw red now has a visible beam. But isn't this dense fog harmfull to the lasers (or other equipment)? I'm using the liquid which was sold with the smoke machine.

Blurry vision after playing with blu-ray

When playing with blu-ray after a while my vision gets a little blurry, this is after looking at the dot for a while at a distance 15ft. A few minutes later vision becomes normal again. Is this harmfull and what can cause this? Is it maybe the same what happens with welding, flash burn (which...

    Blu-Ray and DX200 pics

Canon EOS 40D with 28-80mm lens. (ISO400, 5secs, F16) I've tried to take pics without UV filter but the beam stays blueish and dimmer than it is in reality. I guesss the CMOS sensor is less sensitive to violet light.

    dilda  DX 200  burning power

Re: dilda  DX 200  burning power Yes I noticed this as well, With the rechargeables it heats up a lot faster but it does burn better. I measasured the voltage of a fully charged cr2 and it reads 3.48v
