    WTB: UK/AUS microwave transformer 240V 50Hz

I bought a couple 120V MOTS on eBay in the last few years, and the 120V versions were only about $25USD with shipping. I guess the 240V UK versions are slightly more than that on average. I've done a good amount of experimenting with them over the years(120V MOTS) and figured out the best way to...

    Dangerous IR

Damn. Your sig says it was a 150+mW laser, but I'd bet it was more around 80.(cheap ebay greenie) Still, that means you could have had up to about 300mW of IR going straight into your eye. Consider yourself lucky if you don't have any permanent eye damage.

    Adds

Yeah it's pretty simple. The ads are what help pay for the forum and keep it free to use. It's also not true that all the companies advertising are crappy, but many of them are ;)

    IS it legit; cool laser

Okay fair enough. I wasn't trying to be offensive just making sure you understood a 1W laser is not a toy.

    IS it legit; cool laser

Hmm, I have to say that first one looks like an alright starter kit for a newb, just because of the included safety goggles. The batteries will be cheap and not good quality, along with the laser. Power output will probably be around 700mw, and maybe up to a watt, but output is not posted on...

    IS it legit; cool laser

Yes glasses are recommended for any Class 4 laser as a stray reflection can very hazardous to the eyes, especially if you're planning on trying to light cigs with it or something like that. I'd recommend laserbtb or the BST section on here, but the price for a 1W will be closer to $100 than $80...

    IS it legit; cool laser

It's probably a 445nm laser, but more than likely it's not anywhere near 2W with that host size and price. Even if it was an m140 outputting 2W, the host would get hot very quickly and it would have a short duty cycle. I'm guessing it's some kind of blue laser, probably 1w output at most, and...

Does anyone here know of any USA sellers on Ebay that sell legitimate Panasonic 18650s?

FS: LK-PD RGB projector + HID

Was just about to send a PM for the HID but I see it's sold.. glad you finally sold it though lol

FS: LK-PD RGB projector + HID

Re: FS: Air cooled Argon + 100W ebay HID I'm interested in the HID, because I've been looking to buy one for a while. Only one problem with it though, you say it's a 100W, but it's clearly the 35/55/75W model, and it may be slightly under driven based on what I've heard others say about it. I'm...

    3.5W NDB7A75 445nm Laser Diode

True but that would be odd for two good-quality meters to be out by 250mW in opposite directions at 5W. Even that wouldn't explain the difference between what Rick and others got compared to DTR unless DTR just had a less efficient diode which is very possible.

    3.5W NDB7A75 445nm Laser Diode

I think your meter is accurate. You meter registered between 1.1-1.6w for the new 520nm diodes @ 2.4A, which is well within the expected range and the same as DTR was getting with those diodes. DTR might have just tested a low-efficiency diode or something is wrong the LPM. Hard to say at this...

    3.5W NDB7A75 445nm Laser Diode

Good testing DTR, seems either you tested a less-efficient diode than Rick or something is wrong with his power supply and or LPM(possibly something might be wrong with your LPM?). I find it hard to believe that his power supply or LPM is that off but something must be up off, unless he just had...

    Blood Moon and Lasers

Yup I'm fascinated by the topic aswell and have done a good bit of research on it. IMO Ernest Martin was the best when it came to chronologically ordering the events using astronomy. Don't want to thread hijack so I'll leave it there lol thanks for the pics.

    Blood Moon and Lasers

Unfortunately the clouds rolled in right before the blood moon :( Love that pic with the 445 next to the moon. It makes it easy to see the divergence of the laser is about 15 arcmins. On the star of Bethlehem is the guy saying it was the conjunction of 6/17/2BC? That was an impressive...

    Yet another first laser build/screwup

If that's the current the diode is getting, you either have a loose connection or the driver is bad. At .2mA the diode won't even output 1 mW of power.

    100mW@532nm laser from Lazerer-opinions

I bought a 100mw 532 from them over a year ago and it worked good. I know they used to meter their lasers before shipping them not sure if they still do. I doubt the laser would only be 5mW even if they don't care about power guarantee anymore.

New Generation 445nm Diodes: Nichia NDB7A75

6W with a 3 element lens? Sorry but that is impossible :D edit: Oh I see what you mean thats 6w going into the lens

New Generation 445nm Diodes: Nichia NDB7A75

The first and 3rd pics really show the difference and the second makes them look pretty similar. I'm sure we can get the beam down to an acceptable div. using a 3 element. I noticed you said you were only using a 2.5A driver. Im sure that when you get a 3.5A+ driver and a 3 element lens the...

    400mW RGB white light laser

I've been thinking about buying a white light laser for a while now. It looks fair to me. Will keep an eye on this thread
