How often and why do new wave lengths get released?

There is a solid-state way via Pr:YLF but is more expensive than HeNe and is exceeding hard too find. There is no available handheld in the orange, I have tried to get some PR:YLF but I have been unable to find a supplier who will sell to a person.

My Rainbow -- Post Pic's of Yours

Thanks! The argon is the worst, it puts out so much heat at that level, I barely keep it cool. However the 462nm is close behind it, I only kept it on for 3 min to get these shots but when I went to turn it off it was hot to the touch, I was real lucky that I didn't burn it out  I...

My Rainbow -- Post Pic's of Yours

There, I finally got around to taking some pictures of my rainbow. The higher power ones are a bit washed out, but other than that the colors are pretty accurate. The wavelengths are listed in my signature, all of them except the GreNe are included in the pics.

My laser collection - Show yours

Thanks! That is a 473nm Jetlasers Pl-E Pro. It's a real pretty host, but the crystals are all out of alignment and it's only putting out 20mW on a warm day(5mW if it's cold).

My laser collection - Show yours

Here is my collection of handhelds, not including my argon and 5 helium-neons.

Possible lowering of exotic diode prices?

Well that and the demand for such diodes is very, very small.

FS, Ar-Ion, RPL-260, Sinner hosts. Laserbee 1, Maglite with PT-54

Might be interested in the argon... Waiting on pics and price

    New all copper host project

Re: nwfreefly- host project I love this idea! If these were available for purchase I would definitely be buying a few. You should be able to get the epoxy to take a polish, I have been able to sand it with similar results to copper, however I no not have the equipment to polish it.

Mystery Wavelength in PMS/REO Particle Counter Tube

I would be very interested in one of these especially if there is orange. Where would you be selling them?

Got yet another whitelight ion... =)

Absolutely beautiful, I would love to see the beam and the different lines from that laser!

    Inventor of the Laser Dies

He will be missed but he will live on in all of our lasers.

Possible lowering of exotic diode prices?

The problem with RGBY is that the color gamut is not especially impacted for your average person. People who can distinguish the shades between green and red will notice the difference, but most people will not see it. There are actually a set of people who have an extra receptor in this...

Possible lowering of exotic diode prices?

I am super excited for diodes with wavelengths less than 405nm. UV lasers are just cool :) that and orange :D

Mystery Wavelength in PMS/REO Particle Counter Tube

OK, I will try to get a better set up to measure the wavelengths. I think I messed up the measurement the first time.

Disection and Repair of wicked lasers krypton S3 need help

No you already dropped it I doubt you could make it worse. As long as it is not running while it is being heated up. EDIT: I found this ->HERE I have bought from this seller before and I trust their power ratings. This is probably your best bet for a replacement module.

Mystery Wavelength in PMS/REO Particle Counter Tube

Anyone have ideas? It is clearly not part of the ghost beam, but I still don't know what it is.

    Post your WATCH collection! [pics]

Yes it does, it also has a perpetual calendar, and is solar powered! It should last forever anywhere in the world! (It has a setting for every timezone the world)

Yeah ^that I kind of want one of these!

Mystery Wavelength in PMS/REO Particle Counter Tube

I don't think so, it has it's own mode structure and alternates between TEM 00 up to TEM 03 then dies. Then it comes right back.
