    ndrew2505 and Modwerx

I just wanted to throw in a little more praise. I had to order an LPC sled quickly Friday evening and it was shipped and on its way by the next day. Thanks very much!

512 Lbs of Laser for $22 (Medical Ho:YAG)

MarioMaster wins yet another awesome laser. This thing is amazing. Great video log, too!

    Who's the lucky recipient?

Just a couple pics. of my new He-Ne

18mW? Wow, that's pretty high for a HeNe! Nice pictures.

    Two 150mW argons - current bid: $10

The hour counts were extremely high so that seems to be a reasonable price that they were sold at. I'm sure the output has seriously degraded, but maybe they'll still work.

    Skylasers on Focalprice? For Cheap?

I think he means that the beam is really thick, not that the divergence is bad. These are most likely QC rejects. At one point, I wanted to buy one of those portables just to take the host apart and install my own laser (I bet they use cmount hosings, so a 4W IR laser would work pretty nicely...

    WickedLasers hacked!

I've always used mysql_escape_string() because I've never used weird character sets. I see that it's now deprecated, so I suppose I should go ahead and switch all those instances over to mysql_real_escape_string(). SQL injections are a classic case of insecurity by sloppy coding. I would...

    Scientech 372 Power Meter

Thanks for the info, Mike. I found a manual for the 362 the other day and have been meaning to read through that a bit to determine what adjustments I need to make. I'll definitely check out the section on reducing the overshoot. I forgot to mention that this meter must be government surplus...

    Scientech 372 Power Meter

Scientech 372 Laser Power Meter @ JWC.blog This is a copy of the post on my blog about the power meter I got from Laser_Ben this weekend. I apologize for any errors during copying. This meter has a thermopile detector (as opposed to the photoelectric sensor on my Liconix 45PM) and can measure...

My soon-to-be wife's new fluorescent Diamond

Thanks very much for the info, Glenn; that was really informative. The reason why I had thought otherwise is because I saw an episode of Nova about creating synthetic diamonds. They had simply said that the man-made diamonds fluoresce but the natural ones didn't. That's interesting to hear...

    WickedLasers hacked!

Food for thought: unless this hacker has absolutely no clue about what he's doing, he probably installed a backdoor. I'd be very leery of purchasing from Wicked right now because there's a good chance that he's able to grab customer information right as people purchase stuff. Wicked absolutely...

My soon-to-be wife's new fluorescent Diamond

I thought that fluorescence was a telltale sign that the diamond was synthetic.

    WickedLasers hacked!

All that info was probably taken from any one of a number of DNS data gathering sites. I highly doubt he tried an SQL injection, mostly because that kind of data is so easily obtained elsewhere and is not representative of what would be in a SQL database. Databases are used to store things...

    WickedLasers hacked!

Honestly, the pros rarely target sites like these. Usually, they target much more difficult sites because they have no interest in spending 15 minutes attacking a tiny company without heavy security.

    WickedLasers hacked!

Doubtful. Slicehost is a VPS company, meaning if that Wicked employed an administrator that decided to use 5 character passwords on all the user accounts, it would have been easy. The attackers could have gotten in several ways. Based on what I can see, they likely got control of either an...

    How many here use linux?

I started using Linux when I was pretty young (basically the day we got high speed internet) and haven't turned back. Currently, most of my systems run Arch Linux, but I also like Gentoo and Slackware. I've also tested about a dozen other distros, but I don't really like the ones that have...

    Laser Rap (Part II)!!!

Wow, this was even better than your first one, which was already amazing. :) Great job!

    How old are you?

    Wow, you fall exactly in the age/2 + 7 rule. Nice! :) --- I'm 19; college sophomore.

HI im new can you please help?

I highly doubt that's 300mW. SKY doesn't even make laser pointers that powerful (their pointers go up to 200mW and their portables go up to like 400).
