Lasers are sold for this purpose, I believe. They are called "dazzlers." I would not recommend using them as a "weapon" per say, but if you live in the woods or someplace isolated, you could justify use of an unfocused (like, very unfocused) beam as an "illuminator" i.e. flashlight-substitute...

Really? I honestly prefer the driver pill hosts, but I guess that's why I haven't seen many of those. Also those without a pill are probably easier to machine. Now I know :)
