Long distance 1.4 Watt 520nm beamshots

I am curious about the maths involved in dot size and energy reaching the terminal beam point if a beam expander is involved. The expander I have is a LaserGlow X10DR 10x expander that I have adapted to be a universal fit. It has two adjustment points by twisting either the expander's lens or...

    6.5W Maglite Laser

It's a lovely build. I have two Maglite builds myself with a 1.4W 520 in copper and 5W 465 in aluminum. Both handle the heat pretty well. I would almost worry about the driver before the diode on these builds, but I can thoroughly recommend the concept.

    Memory Lane (Pic Heavy)

Wonderful builds you've made over the years. I especially like some of those tiny ones. So much power coming out of something the size of a finger is awesome. And yes, what are you referring to as 500nm? I would throw all the money at anything close to that wavelength.

    Eracoy's Collection

Yes, it is that host, though I didn't buy it as part of that bundle. I have a few of them all from Survival Laser. In two I have RCR123A's, and in the other two I have 18650s. I use a mix of flat top and button top batteries. Usually I'll either use a blob of solder to make them pointed, or just...

Some nice ones you have there, especially that 589. I look forward to seeing pictures!

    Eracoy's Collection

I am going to be gradually adding to this page as I upload images of my collection. Some samples can be seen here: 405nm S06J C3 The humble little C3 hosted blu-ray is the first I'll be sharing of my collection It is a pleasant aproximately 700mw of single mode near-UV. I'll power test...

Could we have a "Member Collections" section?

I really like the idea. I'm not sure of the mechanics, but would it bump a thread up to the top of the forum if the OP updated their own first-comment collection display?

FEELER: XPL lasers RG:yellow with single mode diodes.

I guess I'll go ahead and commit to one. I really look forward to these if/when they are built. I wonder, is there any possibility of a single mode RB:V? Perhaps with a single mode 450nm and 635/638?

CANCELED FEELER: XPL Lasers (LPF 15% discount instead)

For the record here, how should we get in contact with him?

    Blue laser for Astronomy?

I have to say that on the matter of eye safety, there is hardly a difference between a 100mW green and a whatever-watt blue. They will both zap your peepers pretty harshly without safety goggles.

    Laser Wall

The best thing I can recommend is using something like a diffraction grating to split the laser into a fan beam. Or, if you like the crisscrossing, you could go with something I've used before, which is one of these lenses Laser Beam Splitters - Diffraction Gratings and bouncing THOSE between...

FEELER: XPL lasers RG:yellow with single mode diodes.

What time frame are you looking at on these, and what does that compare to if I ordered one from XPL with a LPF discount today? I'm interested in one of the units, and if it isn't too much longer of a wait, I'd like to go with one of the single mode variety.

    FS: Jetlasers PL-E 532nm 700mW +Beam Expander, $400 final price!

Re: Jetlasers PL-E 532nm 700 mW +Beam Expander, $550 I'm interested in seeing more photos of the laser and beam expander. Would you mind posting some more? That is a wonderful price. If only I could pull my wallet that far out of my pocket. Tempting... So, how likely does it seem it would...

CANCELED FEELER: XPL Lasers (LPF 15% discount instead)

Re: FEELER: XPL Lasers (RG:Y, RB:M, high-power 532s, etc) Ah, I see. So, it rotates, the head does. One of the rotation settings is the diffraction cap, another the fixed focus yellow/green/red beam mode. One you have a lock and use the capacitive little button, and finally, there is an inward...

CANCELED FEELER: XPL Lasers (LPF 15% discount instead)

Re: FEELER: XPL Lasers (RG:Y, RB:M, high-power 532s, etc) I notice there is a difference in looks between the RG:Y 100mW and 200mW, yet some of the images are the same between them. What does each of these look like? Is there a difference in the host style? I definitely want one, but I'm not...

XPL discussion - the mystery company

Re: XPL discussion - "the miracle company" I'm also interested in these low-power 532s. It seems there are plenty of options. For the price, I don't see any down side if you're looking for a low end or a low power green. Plus, they come in colors!

XPL discussion - the mystery company

Re: XPL discussion - "the miracle company" If they do in fact allow taking off of accessories for a lower price, I'd definitely want to snag some of that RG action. Does anyone know why they have the ad for the RG200 on the RG100 page as well?

    Laser repair Help !!

If you want in that range, I might throw O-Like into consideration: Greens with some of their $40-50 range options. At that price, 520nm diode green is out (though at twice that price, you could get it and be better than 532nm). I would recommend a pre-built laser ordered from somewhere other...

For sale O-Like 100mw waterproof focusable green laser

Re: For sale O-Like 100mw waterproof green laser Is it focusable? If so, I'll buy it.

Beam expander that works with Survival Laser S4X?

Looking at my X10DR, it looks suspiciously close to the size of an S4X. Checking the specifications, the S4X is 38.1 mm in diameter at the business end. The X10DR from Laserglow (the Aries series one seen here) is built to fit the 37.9mm Aries pointers. I wonder if perhaps one of those would fit...
