    Invisible beam?

From Survival Laser's website: The SL-SD-3 is an adjustable "buck" type diode driver. The SD-3 driver is sold in two output current ranges (approximately 400mA to 1.1A, and 1.6 to 2.3A at a maximum output voltage of 6 volts), and the current can be continuously adjusted by the user within these...

    Invisible beam?

Kind of odd that no one else has answered your question yet, but it's not surprising seeing that the laser hobby is dulling down for a lot of people. You are correct, the 6v minimum is your issue. You need 2 16340 batteries, or 2 18350 batteries to meet the 6v minimum requirement. With only an...

I like my three-element lens more than my G-2 lens

I use the 3-element lens in my 445nm laser. It actually has a pretty decent beam, and can hit low clouds. I use a G9 lens in my 405nm laser because it still has a nice small dot with it, but it kills the 445 beam for me.

PL520 sold have other parts for sale

Re: Fs or Trade PL520 87 Mw laser I do hope if it's a trade, you get something you like better, or if it's money, it helps with what you need it for. But anything it seems would be a profit for you on this. Good luck on your health and sale.

WTB a laser host for 9mm 445nm laser

Yeah, cause who's seen a maglite host before?

What music does LPF listen to?

I went to see Seether last month. September 21 I'm going to see Volbeat, Five Finger Death Punch, and Hellyeah. Before Seether I saw Three Days Grace, Chevelle and Adelitas Way a couple years back. I mostly listen to rock/hard rock but I have a very wide range of tastes.

This is a throwing star I made out of a hard drive platter years back.

    Lowest divergence laser diode?

I can see a dot on low clouds with my 532nm, 520nm (acrylic), 650nm (acrylic), and my 445nm (3-element). I'm sure I could see the dot on the clouds with my 405nm too, but I'm not a mantis shrimp. Seriously though, get the right 532nm pointer, and the perfect focus, and you'll be seeing a tiny...

    Lowest divergence laser diode?

This is incorrect. C-mounts and the 635/638nm red multimode diodes are some of the worst. Single-mode reds have very good divergence.

Lowering temperature and increasing curret vs lifespan

From the video description: "This diode definitely seemed to be outputting over 1W of power, but I cannot say for sure. (I need a laser power meter)" *Is* and *seemed to be* are two very different things. This test is in the video you linked to is completely irrelevant without a laser power...

Thermal paste between a diode module an heatsink?

If he builds computers, he would have to know the difference between compound/paste and adhesives :p Thermal paste = thermal compound. They are the same thing.

I'm with will manners on this. That LED button is awesome looking and the laser as a whole is just absolutely stunning. Great job putting this together!

What is the wavelength of pure violet?

bostjan, please look at post dates as these threads are supposed to die off. The discussion thread for perceived wavelength is here: http://laserpointerforums.com/f60/intelligent-discussion-desired-wavelength-software-89085.html Why these separate threads are not locked still I do not know.

    RGV in the rain

Lol, that's pretty crazy. I think I'll be fine though. Hard to compare that scenario with the pictures I took in light rain in my backyard.
