Issues with AR coated glass lens for 445

NOTE: When I twist the lens the big 'X' rotates along with it. This leads me to believe it is something within the lens itself...

Issues with AR coated glass lens for 445

It is a square heatsink so I will not be able to do that test: Lab style heatsink for 12mm laser modules - $20.99 : Modwerx Shop This is my first 445 and I had a heck of a time trying to get it pressed flush within the Aixiz compared to the other red LOC's I have done before. Visually, the back...

Issues with AR coated glass lens for 445

I purchased the following glass lens from here for my 445 laser in Modwerx heatsink: AR coated glass lens for 405-445nm [LENS3] - $12.99 : Modwerx Shop There is an elongated 'X' that is quite big around the beam. It is a new lens and I even cleaned it using special photo-quality swabs. Am I...

    445/FlexModP3 Power Supply?

I am almost positive the 5.5 volt PSU will work, here is the documentation of the driver: http://hacylon.case.edu/laser/FlexModP3/FlexModP3_Manual.pdf "It can accept input power in the range of VDiode + 1.5V up to 24V and the output voltage will match the load requirement."

    First scanner build (eventual tutorial)

Thanks man, it's "paul AT zimmtech DOT net" I just ordered some Alimex from here so I have everything I will need: https://www.midweststeelsupply.com/store/CastAluminumPlate That includes the main 3/8" thick baseplate and also three 1.5"x1.5" (1/4" thick) supports for the Modwerx laser...

    445/FlexModP3 Power Supply?

Right, I understand that the output of the driver needs to be around 4.5 volts but what about the INPUT voltage from the battery? Don't all these constant current drivers adjust the voltage based on the diodes voltage/current curve? I have tested some drivers being powered by only a 3 volt...

    445/FlexModP3 Power Supply?

I cannot find any decent 6 volt (+2 amp) power supplies so I am instead thinking of using something like this: 5 VOLT AC/DC POWER SUPPLY - RS-15-5, Mean Well RS-15-5 * The output can be adjusted up to 5.5 volts. So 5.5 volts minus the 1.5 volt driver overhead is 4 volts TOTAL. QUESTION: Is 4...

    First scanner build (eventual tutorial)

Hello again, I got two of the FlexModP3 drivers in the mail today: http://hacylon.case.edu/ebay/laser_diode/FlexModP3.php One driver will be used to power a 445 diode and the other will be used to power two LOC red diodes in series (each LOC will get half the voltage). Now the FlexModP3 driver...

    445/FlexModP3 Power Supply?

Hello, I am in the process of building a laser projector and I have two of these FlexModP3 drivers: http://hacylon.case.edu/ebay/laser_diode/FlexModP3.php One driver is used to power a 445 diode and the other will be used to power two LOC red diodes in series (each will get half the voltage)...

FOR SALE: SpaceLas PT-20K max35k [SOLD!]

Re: FOR SALE: SpaceLas PT-20K max35k [UNUSED] The first (least expensive) step would be to build a sound card DAC to control the X/Y galvos and the intensity of the laser: Sound card DAC tutorial I just got all the components to my sound card DAC yesterday in the mail and I soldered everything...

    First scanner build (eventual tutorial)

Just got all the components to my sound card DAC today and I soldered everything together. It's coming together great so far! I used a ribbon cable from an old PC which I intend on connecting to the C-Media sound card when I get that in the mail. Tomorrow I am going up to get some 1/4" aluminum...

200mW of green for $125 shipped!!!!!!!!!!!!!

200mW of green for $125 shipped!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Correct, I purchased the exact same 150mW laser as in the OP. It already comes with a power supply but mine has an Analog input to modulate the beam. I only need 5V to turn it on, you think just straight batteries (with 10K pot) would work? I just want to test it out and don't want to damage the...
