How to power this RGB laser?

well look at that :D my mistake! Thank you for flipping the image :P

How to power this RGB laser?

Hah,you are right B-B! The red socket is just +- 15v and the blue one is modulation. All dough it is 15v,not 12v. So you just need 15v. A big battery or a wall adpater(must have at least 1A) and that should be it.

How to power this RGB laser?

Yeap...that's pretty much it. Btw, Thank you Sigurthr :) English is not my country language,so i might sound weird. Didn't intend to be rude

How to power this RGB laser?

sorry if you got that impression :D no hard feelings :) you just need to understand that lasers are very dangerous...that's all. And yes, they are power separately. I know my stuff man, don't doubt that ;) I don't have so much experience with low power lasers, just with high power ones. So... Its...

How to power this RGB laser?

you dont seem to understand what lasers are,and how they work. Do a bit of research before attempting to power the unit again. 9v is capable of delivering about 100mAh which is WAY to low for a laser diode of 1w to work. Usually 1w diodes have a operating current of 1A(1000mA). So you get the...

How to power this RGB laser?

Its a dual supply rail. +15v and -15v. The red is positive and blue is negative. Just buy a 20v AC transformer with C tap,use 7815 and 7915 regulators and you should be good to go. I would like some more "higher" definition photos of the traces on the pcb. So we dont make a mistake :)

    Green Laser Maybe Eye Damage?

If there was no direct exposure, you probably made some minor damage. You should see some help for expert opinion. You should never look at the beam. 10mw is pretty powerful to damage your eyes. Buy some protection glasses if you are in to lasers. Hope you regain your vision soon :)

    Green Laser Maybe Eye Damage?

I get it if you look at it for a sec or two,but a minute ??? There is a danger label, did you read it ? Did you go to a doctor ?

Re: Green Laser Are you kidding ? In what twisted universe would you look at the freaking laser ? :twak:

    Some advice would help

Think man, dont expect to much from the forum. I told you to do a bit of learning. Dont try avoiding that. Its simple! Wikipedia is your friend :) And btw, yes, thats that. You can now make a burning laser.

    Some advice would help

Its fixed current,so you need to know your specs. If you are buying the mitsubishi, you need to contact the seller in order to find out the recommended voltage and current. And then find the driver.

    Some advice would help

Cant help you there. In mu country, you cant find laser diodes to buy. I started with disc drive ones. For complete modules there is always the Aixiz module. Someone else should recommend you that cause i dont have experience with low power lasers. There is a lot of info on this forum, you just...

    Some advice would help

Well as long as its DVD RW (ReWritable) you can burn. Have in mind that DVD burning diodes ar RED and the CD burning ones are InfraRed. Both are dangerous! You cant see the IR spectrum(just a faint red light)! So when you open the CD/DVD burner, you will find that it has 2 diodes and a photo...

    Some advice would help

Cant really do much at that price. But i would suggest that you find a complete module. Or if you buy just a diode and the driver, you can try finding a dead laser printer. They have a nice heat sink and lens. Maybe you should be experimenting with RED lasers, like those found in DVD burners. You...

    Some advice would help

You can put it in anything you like ! Use your imagination :) Buying a soldering iron is the way to go. Try convincing your mother that you need that iron! Its an important tool in electronics. You might be into lasers now,but maybe in the near future you will be into something else, were you...

    Presstek 40W IR diode

Hello everyone! :) I have a 40w presstek diode, which is 808nm. I'm currently looking for the datasheet, but no luck. The questions i have are: 1: What kind of connector does this module use ? 2: What fiber optic cable is recommended for this wavelength and power? 3: What is the best way to...
