    Making a grating?

No idea how but I am sure you can. Refractions, reflections and such can be over powering to the eye and as such be careful with "stray rays" and friends that are not visually protected. Unfortunately, it is easier and safer to have buddies watch via a digicam or a webcam. Yeah I know its not as...

    112d diode really sensitive?

I can't focus that good, but I guess you're indicating a wire that is no longer connected to the input lead through the can. If thats the case, do you think excessive heat on the soldering iron caused it? SN

    112d diode really sensitive?

Ok You have 5V across the diode? You are using the daedal driver? I would expect to see only 2.8 - 2.9v on that driver for a red diode. Here is a link to a graph for the 112d http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1203149320 Maybe your power input is too high, I recall the...

    Laserglow Vega->Severe divergence problem.

Well maybe not the fastest method, but I am sure they would work with you on freight, and If you ask, I bet a warranty extension could be provided. Just my 2 cents SN

    112d diode really sensitive?

Re: philips 112d diode really sensitive? Testing with a 2.47v 300mA flashlight bulb is not a solve all, but it will allow you to see if the circuit is working and can adjust mA via the pot. I like to test that way before adding a LD but, remember to discharge the cap or wait til it has...

    112d diode really sensitive?

Re: philips 112d diode really sensitive? Not sure why but three things come to mind, 1 Did you remove the solder short on the cable? (You said you added one before removal) 2 Have you tested your LM317 circuit for proper results via say a 2.47v 300mA flashlight bulb common at radio shack...

how can i track my package once it reaches the US?

Re: how can i track my package once it reaches the Working? I thought everyone here took "early retirement" like I did. Why should someone want to work past their late 30's if they can play with cool toys. SN :)

    Spammers

Sorry but I think we are missing the point. Even if there is no admin to deal with it, post more in the non spam threads and then the "top 20" will not include the spammer anymore. I don't care how many mods work the site, if the members all see spam as crap and don't acknowledge it,,,, then it...

    Spammers

By replying to a spammer, the spammer simply wins. His post keeps arriving at the top of the new posts list. Let's just let that post get buried under NEW more relevant and informative threads until Admin has a chance to remove/close the improper post. SN

    where to salvage green diodes?

Nothing has an easily salvaged green diode. Best to try red ones first as they are cheaper. Get some laser eyewear before you get started as these diodes are pretty powerful. Goto the experiments and modifications threads and read as much as you can so your "up to par" on what your going to...

    Multiple 3D Glasses=Decent Safety?

Professional glasses with a certificate and a stamp on the lenses are the best bet, granted they can cost upwards of $200 US. Usually these suppliers are for the medical industry. But If a doctor uses a laser daily for work, you know he wants the best. I have 2 eyes and even if I don't view a...

    Lasers & Eyes

I am sorry to hear your vision is still affected :( I hope in time it restores to what it used to be. I understand the "haze" effect you describe as any really intense light can cause such impairments, Even welding and brazing processes can cause that effect. In regards to glasses and not seeing...

    115 Diodes

You can build your own driver for like 6$ http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1185701612 Have fun and BE SAFE! SN

    1 watt driver

You may want to use a LM338 and re-design your circuit as the LM338 can handle more current. SN

    Wanted - 100+mw green pointer

Stick to a <5mW unless you get safety glasses. The lasers you speak of require safety glasses or your eyes may be hurt. If you want to burn things, obtain some safety eyewear before you buy a high power laser. I am sure the things you want to burn are not your eyes. SN

    Here's Another Great Blu-Ray Host!

This non negative case/chassis reminds me of the old English MG and old cars in general. Many were actually positive grounded. I wonder if some creative thought in regards to positive ground and reverse battery design might need us to take some head to "old style" electrical grounding designs...

    Craftsman Multimeter Issue

Replace the fuse if blown and if it reads a current for a load, its ok,,, Ok means accurate to what it was designed for, It may or may not be super accurate, but if the fuse was blown then replaced, it should be as accurate as it was. The bulb will draw a consistent load, It may increase a bit...

    Craftsman Multimeter Issue

I can't recall a DMM that was not fused on the current measurement side. 99% chance you need a fuse SN

    Craftsman Multimeter Issue

Flashlight bulbs come spec'd for a specific volt and amp and I use them to test circuits before using my diodes. Even radio shack has a 2.47v 400mA bulb thats decent for many diode simulations. Tho maybe you just blew the meters fuse. Open the meter and see if the little glass fuse is spent. SN
