    Lithium-Ion Batteries and Info

Hello, I read your informative survey, but I wonder: 1. "Check your Internal Resistance" - How can an average user, who doesn't know much electronics (like me) do that? 2. "Use a protection circuit" - How can I be sure that what is advertised as a protection circuit battery, is realy a...

    Long distance burning - Question

My 400mW, 405nm focusable laser burns a match 9 meters distance away with no problem. It may burn even further, but my apartment isn't long enough to try it.

Who Leaves Their Batteries Unattended to Charge?

I loved that, jeffreythe00! The problem is, that members here who don't have small children, won't understand how it is like with small children... I also watch my batteries and check on them periodically. If I go to sleep I will wake up no more than 4 hours later and check on the...

Surely this can't be for real?

This copmany directors should read some stickies and posts here before they advertise lasers, because it is obvious that they don't have a clue about lasers...

    Radiant Electronics Stocking and Information

Just wanted to log in my account at your website and I forgot my password. So I clicked 'forgot password', entered my email, and got a notification from the webpage saying that a new password was sent to my email. Checked my email- and nothing is there. It has been 10 hours since then and still-...

    General boredom

Nice avatar. From what distance are you burnig this match and what is the output power of the laser? Is this the O-like 400mW that is on your signature?

How can I be safe while turning matches on?

With goggles you can't see the beam, but you can see the dot. Just put the match where the dot is smallest and there you go.

    Testing mW?

    Lazerer VS skylasers

I haven't heard much about skylasers neither. However, Lazerer is a reliable seller. I bought two lasers from lazerer, both are overspec, both came fast (within 10 days), and Max, the owner, answered all my emails fast and to the matter.

    Rayfoss?

Lazerer is a new promising laser store with fast shipping, up to spec lasers and good service. I think he is becoming my first choice for lasers.

What do you use your laser for?

Similarly, you could ask how was the first ever 1 meter distance measured. And the answer is that is wasn't measured. The length of 1 meter is an arbitrary decision made by scientists or whoever made it, and from then on, all distances were calibrated to the original 1 meter.

My 100mW focusable can't light matches

Your SD-301 Focusable 100mW green laser probably outputs less than 100mW. If you want to know this for sure, you're gonna have to LPM it. Basically, a laser, any laser, burns at its best on the focal point. Under the circumstances, I can advise you to try different distances until you find the...

    1W IR weird focus.

My overspec 500mW 808nm IR laser (peaks at 630mW) burns a match only up to 30cm well focused. I posted a question here asking whether I will be able to burn a match much further than 30cm if I buy a more powerful 2W Focusable NIR Infra Red Laser?

Burning capabilities of a 808 IR laser

Hi, Just received this 500mW 808nm IR laser. It is an overspec laser which outputs 630mW. I tested its burning capabilities among other things and found out that it can burn a match only at close distance up to 30cm well focused. I thought about returning it, adding some money and getting a...
