I think maybe you are referring to a terminal block. land the line voltage wires into the wire socket and tighten down the binding screws.

Congrats on the lathe...there is a whole sub culture dedicated to modifying that one you bought to make a ultra precision lathe. cnc kits are readily available as well. Welcome to the addiction of metal work. Don't forget to remove the chuck key :o Chuck

Here's the first version cut. The componet's used were what i had handy..just checking the fit. I might make the profile a tad larger on the next one.

Here's the second version. I removed the cap so it can be soldered directly to the LD. I added a mount for a 1 watt resistor in series with the positive output. Included holes so loop test points could be added to measure the current. Changed the footprint on the pot to a 10 turn Spectrol...
