    Pioneer 8X Blu-Ray-- BDR-203

Well two intermissions over a span of 45mins sounds promising in reference to short duty cycles....I have two 6x's now that very seldom get used due to wanting a long life span.....210 may not be that much for 40 hours of total burn time...thats the same has a stogies now days  :-X:) ::) and a...

    Pioneer 8X Blu-Ray-- BDR-203

Dave did you let the diode cool completely between settings? And how long was each burn test? You stated 45 mins total for the complete test, so was each test apx. 5 mins or so? I'm curious at to what a safe duty cycle would be with it set for around 300mw. Very seldom are mine on for more then...

    Soldering Iron/Station?

I use a WD 1 with a NT1 tip...I have no complaints with it. It heats to preset in about 10 seconds. http://www.cooperhandtools.com/brands/CF_Files/model_detail.cfm?upc=037103208095 I also use EC1002 for more basic soldering. It holds a good temp and there are alot of different tips for it. Chuck

a glimpse at my upcoming lasers....

Those are nice hosts. I have built three so far and plan to build a couple more. I use the coleman max at work as my worklight, I like it alot more then the maglight. The heatsinks are simple to make as well. Nice work.

Creating 240v from two 120v outlets

Dryer circuits are indeed rated for 30 amps, Electric stove/oven circuits are usually 50 amps. For a 240 35amp you would have to move up to a new Nema plug rated for such (such as a welding receptacle). Normal store bought Extension cords are not capable of that much load. A number 8 run in BX...

Creating 240v from two 120v outlets

Gooey the three phase inverter you have needs to be hooked up to good 240 30 amp outlet. Like the one for your dryer. If the two outlets in your room are on separate legs (separate breakers doesn't necessarily mean separate legs) of the main breaker panel then it is possible to have 240...

Red and Blue Aurora Cree Hosts

Here are some pics I wanted to share. The Aurora Host is a nice little unit from DX. I made my heatsinks so to eliminate the driver to battery spring. I didn't much care for the spring putting pressure on the driver. The LOC Red is driven by a Micro Drive with two 16340's with a delrin sleeve...

    Post your "work station"

Here's mine....kinda outgrew my old one so I threw this together last week. Still have a few more things to add, but I'm liking it so far. Chuck

    what driver is better??

What driver you use is largely dependant upon which host you planning to use. If you are planning on a single cell type then the Micro Flex drive would be the correct way to go. If you are planning on a host that holds more then 1 battery then the Micro-Drive may be the better option. They are...

    Flex Drive Minimum 230 ma

First make sure your battery voltage is above 2.5vdc. This is from the instruction sheet: The driver will operate on loads that provide a voltage drop of 2.5V-5.5V across the Diode + and – terminals. Red laser diodes typically have a 3V drop and violet diodes typically have a drop of 5V, so...

Help to find a good blu-ray kit

You can get a Heatsink from JayRob. If you order the BluRay Kit and the heatsink at the same time they should arrive at about the same time. Here are the heatsinks for the MXDL. http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1202452073 Be sure to read the assy. tips if you decide to go...

I need info on homemade burning lasers... can anyo

Re: I need info on homemade burning lasers... can You can start by reading the many tutorial's that are available here. Your questions have been answered many times over. Look at the stickies at the top. Most of the members here will be more inclined to help those who helps themselves. Take a...

    WTB: Aluminium Plate 85x40mm

I could sell you what you need but it would be a considerable amount cheaper if you could buy it local. Shipping a small piece of aluminum across the pond doesn't sound to cost efficient.

    What is your current job?

Dave I was a Aircraft Electrician, 10 years. I worked on Phantom's for 8 of those. I knew the electrical system on that plane like the back of my hand. I use to hang out in debriefing to troubleshoot the squawk codes the pilot made even before he landed. I was at Ramstein for 3 years, from there...

Re: FS for those with limited $$$.  Krytons Bare! Sorry Kenom, I must of missed the part about a "retaining ring". What is it's purpose? Is it for the postive end of the battery compartment?
