    Laser Driver Help!!

The driver will regulate the current to the diode. The voltage drop across the diode will not be a issue. Your only concern in reguards to voltage will be the amount you provide the driver. A FlexDrive will only take so much, I think the max is 5.5vdc, not sure.

    Laser Driver Help!!

Welcome. 110 to 115 is a good setting from a FlexDrive. You might be able to go a bit higher if you have a good sink. The ability to burn will be determined by your ability to focus. 110mA focused properly will definitely burn things. The battery will be determined by the host. A Single 3.7...

    1.45watt 30k scanner project

Nice work Andy. I see you put jack screws on your mirror mount, great ideal, I'll include them on my next batch of mounts. Chuck

    3 Mirror Spiro

I agree with Things.A PWM circuit or A 317 current regulated circuit works excellent for controlling the motor speeds. there are 100's of circuits on the web that are simple to construct and made primarily for speed control. A RC motor speed control works great as well plus you can connect it to...

Custom Machine work offered for trades!!!

Just curious but how are you going to attach the head to the body? I just looked again....is that a setscrew hole in the body?

    7 color pocket spiro CLUB

The 317 circuit that Mo posted many moons ago has a resister in series with the potentiometer. Some people, me included, just leave out the pot and use the resister alone on the adjust leg of the regulator. Or you can leave out the max current resister and use the pot if it can handle it. It is...

Different ways to open the back of ?

I use a upcut mill and machine it open. I haven't opened up any lately, for me it's just not that much of a difference to bother. I do tell my customers about it and leave it up to them. Chuck

    Dorcy jr

Yup sure did:) I like the ideal of having the drive protected inside it's little housing. Plus I'm not to keen on the spring pressing on that fragile little board. I'm making them for all my Dorcy's (8 of them). Plus I've made them for the cree and the Coleman's i have as well. The other set of...

I completely remove the driver. And the inset that holds it. My enclosed modules eliminate the lava drive to spring setup. Chuck

    DIY scanner

Gary, I looked at there web site but all I saw were 20 and 30's. If I contact them will they have them as a normally stocked item? Or is this something they will have to order? I need a set to do basic beam shots, I'm not concerned with animations at this point. Chuck

    DIY scanner

Its too bad the shipping is so high, I'm in the market for a inexpensive set but I'm gonna hold out till I find some stateside. Chuck

    RGV labby, first run

I've decieded to go ahead and try this as well. I know there are a few people that have a interest in this. FML, I re-read the post on the old forum where you built the circuit but I didn't see the values on the components that are highlighted. Is this the circuit you went with? I know you...

    650nm 20x diode at 600ma?

Wow! I never thought about using a spindle control. Makes alot of since though. I'm using a breakout board that pulls the PWM for spindle control out to a header. So I would activate the settings in Mach and check and see if I have the voltage needed to connect to a analog driver. I think the...

    650nm 20x diode at 600ma?

Thats just too cool! Here I've been concentrating on a Blu-Ray to mount on my CnC and your using a LOC. Never even considered using red to burn with. What driver are you using? And how are you blanking it. I thought about using a switch on my Z to power it but it looks like you are not using a Z...

    Sound card DAC tutorial

Thanks for the write up. Very informative. So the outputs for the RGB on the correction amp go straight to the FlexMod's? And the other two go to the Galvo Amps? Do they all share the same common ground? Chuck

    cheap 'n' small mirror mounts?

Remove one screw and add three springs, they will work just dandy for what i need. The thru holes are oversized to allow for adjustment. These are indended to be used as bounce mirror mounts. The insert is sandwiched in between the two pieces, it in-turn, will have the mirror mounted on it. Once...

    Kryton c-mount IR

Nice work Gimp! I guess I'm gonna have to break down and make some of these. Chuck

    cheap 'n' small mirror mounts?

I could probably make you some. How small are we talking? I just made a batch a couple weeks ago. I haven't had time to mess with them yet. I'm thinking about making some out of Corian. I can run the job on my CNC and making some xtra one's is no big deal. If your willing to give me the spec's...
