red is in the 650 nm range, bluray are 405 range. those multiwavelength glasses dont cover red. but most everything else

I dont think that is such an easy fix. i have not seen any ir filters available, let alone in different diameters.

well LRMN, I am a novice at this and dont have the expertise of the senior membors. you didnt say how powerful your lase is. bouncing off things like mirrors and glass they lose quite abit of power. i think you would know it if you fried your eye. i hit myself in the eye with a 5mw greenie...

thanks for your comments. i was out with my blu-ray tonite and could see the beam and it looked nice. sort of cloudy outside. i couldnt see it hardly at all in the house on a cloudy day with blinds half closed, though.

Hello, just got a pretty powerful red. should i be able to see the beam in the night sky? this is a smokin 230 mw. couldnt see any beam at all, lucky i am not tryint to point at stars. my little green 5mw puts up a much better beam for piercing the dark. thanks. lf

Definitely a MUST Read! this thread is very helpful, lucky i started out with a 5mw. may i suggest the senior members put together a document on proper use of lasers as far as the eyes are concerned. i am a newbie here so i wouldnt be the one to do it.
