Try a CO2 one... And then get arrested. They are fairly efficient and at a wavelength of 10600nm, you can be sure that it will be readily absorbed with ease. You could get one with kilowatts of power wich is a terrifying amount of power. Of course there's the issue of the terrible divergence...
