    Simple Electric Motor Demonstration Videos

Re: Simple Electric Motor Demonstration Video I tried to get my Friend to make one of these but with a 175 lb of pull force magnet. He bought the magnet and started machining everything but got lazy and didn't finish it. It was supposed to look like one of those really old mechanical governors...

managed to mount some hard drive arms on some plexiglass. Having the arms mounted on the original frame of the hard drive is convenient but needs some machining. Since i can do that machining out in my shed this is a nice alternative. all i did was size my plexiglass, clamp it down squared up...

    Advice for daylight line laser

green sounds like your best bet and perhaps 50mw? but id be worried about reflection if you were using this on something like table saw or mill. and what your looking for is a line generating module and i haven't read it anywhere but im pretty sure its the lens in the module that creates the...

@ sourcegeek, read the last couple post on the first page of this thread. thought this might be a little helpful to some of you i hope its not too vague. the 4049 is a hex inverter (6 inverters in one package) you only need two but i had a 4049 and it happens to have 6. the L293D is a sort of...

"hdd galvos" Experimentation and project in the works

@ sourcegeek, i had the mounting rods machined along with some small slides with a set screw in each then just used epoxy to glue them on. sorry that its been a while but Ive been pretty busy with school. Ive abandoned my circuit board design since i have left way too much room for error. Ive...

Triggering TTL on driver. 5V signal

the output of the 555 is always going to be slightly lower so you might have to run the 555 at about 8 or 7 volts im thinking? a good way to check would be to build it then get a meter and vary the power to the 555. i think the operating voltage is something like 5-18 volts but im just talking...

if i remember right they wanted to draw an amp as is but i had them limited down to about a 1/2 of an amp with standard frequency. with audio they draw just about the same and the amplifier ic's can handle it with no problem.
