Re: FS: 1.2W CNI PGL-III-C-449.3nm $290 I am confused. Isn't this supposed to be a 1.2W laser? I thought your video of it shows it outputting 1.2W. Another thing. These are the Casio diodes, right?

    Were should I buy a 8x diode

Hello Trever, I am not sure what price range 8X BR diodes can currently be found for. However, 12X diodes contained on a drive sled can be purchased now for $56 shipped. 12x burner 405nm 400-600mW diode/SF-BW512P sled [OL-405-400] - $50.99 : Welcome to O-Like.com, Your source for laser products...

I have problem with my 1W laser

I think it site tell pluggie big electric to me blue diode for happy time. Me fail on this instruct but me still look for happy time so time for me try again.

    New bluray diodes avail soon

A disc can be relied on. While a hard drive can fail, a disc kept in a case is almost certainly going to reliably hold its data forever. Blu ray is the simple evolution of the disc, nothing more, nothing less. We use CDs and DVDs, and they aren't always big enough. Many programs and games are...

    New bluray diodes avail soon

Cmak, you have a hard time grasping the reality of many things. Just because a quote was found saying these are $12 does not mean you will ever have the opportunity of paying $12 for one. I find it funny to note that I have not seen this forum get a hold of such diodes at low prices ever. It has...

    New bluray diodes avail soon

I have waited a long time for this thread to appear. The 12x diodes are the ones I have the most fun with. Tightest beams out of any handheld, and power easily exceeding 750mw. I suspect the new diodes will give 1W at divergence far better than any multi-mode 445nm. But when 12x diodes are now...

o-like 400mW green laser with pictures

The description I earlier read about this 400mW laser reminds me all too much of my last experience with a 400mW laser from O-Like. Very unstable, swung from 420mW down to 180mW, and eventually became a 150mW laser. I will buy O-Like's pens, they rock, but their big, high-output stuff is a...

How come we can't get 1w green diodes like we can blue?

I'm only making sure that we know where we are obtaining the colors of light from when the photons emit from a substance. Some may wonder why we cannot simply add a little more of some "green dye mixture" to our lasing substance made in the labs. :)

How come we can't get 1w green diodes like we can blue?

The correct molecule or substance must be designed that emits photons in the needed wavelength by the process of lasing, and its final properties must suit the conditions experienced inside of a diode. The combination of elements to achieve this may result in complex compounds to obtain certain...

Optical Trapping - Real Laser Tractor Beams

This is a very interesting play of physics in this experiment. :gj:

50mW Pen Comparison, O-Like vs Rayfoss

Update: I received a second 50mW O-Like Silver Chrome. While I did not get to photo the beam shape before I sold the laser locally, I had a chance to check the output, and this one essentially duplicated the previous lasers output. It reached an immediate 63mW peak and remained stable in the...

    100mW O-Like Green ‘Cute’ Laser w/ Pics!

What I have been meaning to do lately is to take apart an O-Like and see if they possibly pot mod some of them down to fit them into the lower categories. It would sound strange in one sense, but not in another. Assume that their source actually supplied too many lasers capable of higher power...

    AixiZ 445nm lens...

I received one of the Aixiz 3-element 445s coated with the gold tint. I noticed that my unfocused beam mimics the unfocused photo posted early in the thread, so I'm sure me and at least one other person have lenses in common. Sorry if I missed this posted somewhere in the thread, as I tried to...

Any known greens with Really GREAT divergence?

The easiest way would be to find a internally threaded tube with threaded bulkheads. All you would need to do would be to epoxy a lens on each bulkhead, and then you could thread them for perfect focus. You could then machine an adapter from solid PVC rod, which is very cheap stuff. You would...

    100mW O-Like Green ‘Cute’ Laser w/ Pics!

Re: Review of My New 100mW O-Like Green ‘Cute’ Laser Yeah, O-Like is hands down better quality over Rayfoss. I tried a few Rayfoss products, and they were lower quality than O-Like and also underspec. I told RF that the last laser they sent me was 20% underspec, and they told me that "maybe it...

    Unknown chip on diode

I was examining an 808nm diode from a very old laser tonight, and I noticed a small chip onboard which I had not seen before on a diode. I thought that it might be a capacitor, or maybe even a photocell for feedback. Hoping for someone to confirm. :yh:

    Post your mA and mW

I would say at this point, there has been enough documentation to confirm a difference between A130 and A140 diodes. Out of all of the 445nm diodes I have tested, I see a clear cut difference between them, and everyone's tests appear to agree.

Any known greens with Really GREAT divergence?

I had one of those modules from Nexbox. Non of them seemed to be adjusted for divergence properly. You need to break the glue on the lens thread and simply adjust the front lens yourself. It will have way better divergence when done! The module I bought from nexbox died in about 30 seconds of...

Any known greens with Really GREAT divergence?

A beam expander is just a magnifying assembly that focuses. So it could be as simple as two lenses. I am currently developing a beam expander that I will be producing soon and selling here at the forum with different end caps to fit different laser models. You can use any optical magnifier for...

    "Super"cooling a laser?

OK on the subject of lasers and cooling, any thermal wattage difference equates to a temperature difference. If one TEC is used, there is a maximum temperature difference which can occur, and that is at the greatest difference between TEC thermal ability and thermal load wattage. So, while the...
